2014 Playoffs

[shooter47]

I raised this in the chat, but I don't know how this makes any sense.

Aug 22 it was posted that the playoffs start Aug 25.  Then instantly on the 25th Seattle is eliminated with a better record than Tampa Bay?  Having the rules read that the play in game is based on the final regular season weeks points makes absolutely no sense.
IF that's going to take place, those teams should be made aware and should play each other that week.

I know it's on me for not reading the fine print of the rules, but I cruised through that week assuming I was in the playoffs since I couldn't be caught for a wild card spot.

I knew the playoffs were coming up quick and I was late with my first playoff post. With the standings though there wasn't much of a race in any divisions except the NL East and NL Central.

I did have to adjust the date the playoffs started in fantrax but the playoff matches from last year were still in the schedule on fantrax so I don't think there was an issue of not knowing the playoffs were going to start.

I'm not really a fan of the setup for the wildcard right now and am working on a proposal to the RC about the current FGM schedule right now. I am going to propose a more realistic schedule of 162 games following the MLB current scheduling rules and adding in a week playoff for the WC teams. It won't have an affect on this year but next year this will hopefully change.

By far the 2 best teams in the AL over the course of the season meeting in the ALCS...I actually like when the best teams are represented!  Good luck fellas, job well done.  :toth:

1) :OAK: :STL: :NYY: - the behemoths come through in the end... congrats to upstarts :NYM: :CHC: :MIN: :SEA:
2) I agree that the wildcard needs to be revisited
3) We need to update the record history in each team profile.  I can provide the analytics on the W-L records but don't have time for the write-ups.

New York Yankees   664.8      Oakland Athletics           592.0

Some great matchups are currently going on in the Championship series in both leagues. Should be an interesting weekend to see who makes it to the FGM World Series

:NYY: is ready to bring it home to the Bronx!
