Old Trading Blocks

Carlos Guillen and money match is the best I can do

Money match as in you give me $7m in 2010 and 2011?

[Dan Wood]

That is correct sir... you do realize we are negotiating on the block and through PM?

I am not going to trade for an overpaid bum 35-year old batter.

[Dan Wood]

Well that is what I will offer for a junk balling overpaid lefty

Maholm is an average SP (ERA+ of 99) who eats up a lot of innings.  He isn't overpaid like Guillen is, but I agree that $5m for a serviceable pitcher isn't worth it.

This is why I am shopping him with cash strapped into the deal.

[Dan Wood]

He's had 1 good year out of 4 in the majors. 2008 seems to be his outlier. He true skills seem to lie in 2007 and 2009. Not useless, but he is the equivalent of an OF who hits .275/360/430... kind of like what Guillen is. And no I didn't just trade him, I traded for him, and that trade was marinating on the board for a few days.
