I need to stop getting bored I find things wrong lol. On march 23 jaba chamberlain was signed to a .5(2013) contract and somehow listed on my team as 1.5 owed needs to be fixed

Chamberlain was released under a $1.5m (2013) contract 1/11/2012 by the Red Sox.  He was re-signed 3/27/2012 by the Red Sox so he goes back to his original contract of $1.5m (2013).  He was then released 4/13/2012 so the $1.5m cap hit is correct.

Thanks for clarifying but when exactly does the drop a player and resign not apply in a year i ask because free agency wasnt even started when drop chamberlin on jan 11?

For the length of the contract which is 2013 in this case.  If you re-acqure the player through free agency or a trade you are still responsible for the original contract if it is higher  than the new contract.

You may not bid on a player that you have released for a period of 30 days.  If you resign a player, their original contract is restored.



I want to make sure I understand correctly if I was to say reaquire Burnett via trade I am on hook for his original contract?
I couldn't find that anywhere in rules only thing found was via resign free agency?

It is apparently not specified in the rules but there was discussion about it in 2009 and 2010.  If you re-acquire a player whether it is through trades or free agency his contract cannot be less than his contract at the time of his release.  This is to prevent GMs from releasing players and getting them back at a lower salary.  If you trade for Burnett you are on the hook for his original salary.
