Minnesota and Anaheim Deal
« on: April 19, 2012, 11:28:36 AM »
:ANA: receives:

Corey Perry, $5.3m (2012-13)
Sheldon Souray, $0.9m (2012-13)
Sergei Bobrovsky, $1.8m (2012-13)
Antti Niemi, $3.1m (2012-13)

:MIN-NHL: receives:

Teemu Selanne, $1.5m (2012-13)
Marion Gaborik, $7.5m (2013-14)
Corey Crawford, $3.6m (2014-15)
Dmitry Orlov, $0.2m (2012-13)

I do this deal to get stronger at RW.  Although I'm giving up 2 G's, I feel like I am breaking even there.  I also take on some cap in the deal.  Thanks :ANA: for the easy negotiations!!!  :toast:

:MDA: Approves

Unfortunatley I had my run at it last yr and knew this season I would need to cut cap, so Gaborik at his high price tag had to be moved, hate to move him esp at over 2.5FPPG last year, but I like my return. Perry should hopefully bounce back next year and I am hoping Neimi has a great season as losing Crawford is something I am not loving to do! Hate to lose Orlov but it was needed to make cap closer. In the end I am happy to save cap and help me with a tiny bit of space for FA. All in All Norry presented this to me and it couldn't be turned down.

Thanks for this offer Norry

I really like this deal a lot... Sure, Minnesota is losing two goalies, but he is getting back two solid RWs that can produce more than 2 FPPG! Anaheim needed to do this deal as they desperately need cap space.

On a side note, I am very impressed with norrya66 and how quickly he is turning the Minnesota franchise around. His team is going to be scary to compete with!

I think Crawford will get more points than Niemi just due to playing with the Blackhawks. We shall see how the rest of it works out.
