New York Knicks trade:
Anthony Davis $30m (2026) ($30m fully paid in the current year by New Orleans Pelicans)

Orlando Magic trade:
Chuma Okeke $3.2m (2024) RFA
Killian Hayes $5.9m (2024) RFA
Orlando Magic 1st Round Pick in 2024

We had to move Davis' contract at some point. I'm definitely losing the best player, but at my cap situation he would have turned out to be a one year rental anyway, which isn't my style. I get some good young guys with potential in Hayes and Okeke and a 1st round draft pick so I can live with losing Anthony Davis.

Orlando Magic Accept.

As everyone else, we worry about AD?s health, but the Magic plan to go all in this upcoming season and we are confident in a core built around AD, Bam, Christian Wood, and Derozan. We plan to make further additions to build around Cole Anthony and Bogdan bogdanovic to create what Orlando believes to be a championship team.
The magic hate to give away their core youth, but sometimes you need to take risks to win championships.
