He can only be placed in the minors if he is signed to a 2 way contract or goes to wavers first.
B) Two-way Free Agent Contracts
A free agent skater can be signed to a 2 way contract if the have played 1-39 games or a free agent goalie can be signed to a 2 way contract if they have played 1-29 games.
The cost of their contract will follow regular free agent bidding with their contract being the winning contract plus an additional 500k as a two way contract fee. These players can also still be signed as normal but their contract will be a 1 way contract.
so no he cant be placed in the minors unless you put him on waivers first following all the waiver rules.
@Anthony can confirm this?
B) This deals with a 2-way signing, has nothing to do with Henrik. My concern is "placement" not a signing or waivers. You're explanation is subject to interpretation.
Can you point out some examples of other who have done this? If so, I'll allow it and we'll close the loophole since I agree that this wasn't something that was intentionally made by the rules and more of an overlook. I don't want to screw you out of a player if it's been done before.
If you don't point out examples, you have plenty of cap space and goalie spots, you can sign him to a major roster spot and send him down during the waiver free period on January 2nd.
I am absolutely not going through over 9 years of pages and threads to point out an example. I am not the commish. I am though, an astute gm who pays, very much attention. There is nothing in rules that says I can't place a player where I want at signing.
Please sign to main roster.
