Just wanted to throw this up to keep clear the direction we're heading after last week. Snug and I were hasty in getting the league contracts transferred over to Fantrax due to fear of ProFSL dying after the outtages. While it is possible to manage the league 100% from Fantrax - I think we all agree that while ProFSL exists and is working properly, using the hybrid ProFSL/Fantrax model is still optimal. The Fantrax forum just isn't robust enough - while it could work, it's clunky and mostly featureless.
Except - we're no longer going to rely on ProFSL for mission critical functions like tracking our contract values/lengths, prospect rosters, or draft picks. We're going to limit the use of ProFSL to discussion, FA bidding and trade postings/voting.
Here's an overview of the changes.
- Roster drops are handled directly on Fantrax - no post needed here UNLESS you need a cap adjustment. For example, to negate the voided contract of a retired player or the cap penalty for a player under $1m (free drop). If you're dropping a contract over $1m, Fantrax will automatically adjust for the penalty over the remaining contract years. If you need any adjustment to that, post here on ProFSL.
- FA bidding will happen here on ProFSL - the same as always, with admins adding players after they are won and contract selected
- While you will have the ability to ADD players on Fantrax - Don't do it! It's illegal - you need to post here on ProFSL for FA bidding to aquire a player
- Moving players to and from your minors is also done directly on Fantrax with no need to post here
- The Roster pages here on ProFSL will no longer be maintained by admins - that page is yours to edit however you desire
- The Google Roster sheet will be maintained by Corey - he will update via transactions here and via the processed transactions on Fantrax - to pick up the roster moves and drops you've completed on your own via Fantrax directly. Any roster issues/inaccuracies should be posted about on ProFSL transactions
- Trades should be posted here for TC review. Simultaneously you can propose the trade on Fantrax - once approved here, an admin will push your trade through there
- TC review will be slightly more limited than in the past. Jared and I will be more routinely approving trades that are fair at face value. TC members are responsible for reviewing each trade, but no longer need to post their approval. If any TC member believes a trade is unfair and would like it reviewed, the TC will convene via PM and come to a consensus on whether to approve the trade or not - then respond to the owners with the verdict. This is to prevent animosity between owners and TC members while reviewing/criticizing trades publicly
- I think that's it. Please express any concerns or let me know what questions you have about the changes.
