CI-OF Gonzalez, Marwin, $8m (2023)
OF Smith, Armani, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI Pasquantino, Vinnie, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Enlow, Blayne, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Orioles trade:
MI Gennett, Scooter, $8m (2020)
CI Nunez, Renato, $0.5m (P-2021)
C Castro, Jason, $2m (2021)

After several weeks of negotiations, the Giants and Orioles were able to come to an agreement.  The Giants are giving up the proven multi-position production of Marwin Gonzalez for a younger, more cost effective CI in Renato Nunez.  With that, in order to get Jason Castro, the Giants had to give up three prospects and take on Scooter Gennett’s $8.0m contract.  Gennett is unsigned, and could join a team during the season, but he is on an expiring contract and does not figure into the Giants plans beyond 2020.

Orioles accept,  getting something for Gennett is great.  I'm not sure when or where he will sign and how much or how well he will playing when he does.  Having Garver and Murphy I'm not going to be gettingmuch production from Castro, so getting something for him is great as well. I like nunez, but his eligibility and production is unsteady. I like the upside of all 3 prospects and the versatility of Gonzalez. 

Drop and buyout P Jerad Eickhoff 4m 2021 owed 6m, pay all 6m this year.
