Evan Fournier $6.0m (2019)

Wizards receive:

Ricky Rubio $6.0m (2022)

Lakers confirm. It looks like my other trade is fixing to go through, and when it does I will have 5 point guards on roster (!) That's an issue when 3 of them (Rubio, Schroder, Conley) have PG exclusive designation. This trade sends one of the PG only players for a solid contributor with SF designation in Fournier. I honestly like Rubio's production and contract, but the position dilemma is too much to ignore this year. Fournier's contract is expiring after this season, and their contracts are equal in apy value, so I see this as a movie that addresses a current issue and doesn't necessarily hurt me going forward.

The makeup of my roster is definitely not attempting to compete this year, but hoping to be very competitive next year. I have all sorts of talent everywhere but PG, so acquiring Rubio for an expiring contract that wouldn’t have been back next year is the perfect move to help solidify my lineup for the next few years.
