Updated on spreadsheets.
But you can adjust the buyout based on the new rule if you would like:
Contract Buy-out - Existing Managers
Contract may be bought out at full guaranteed value, but can be paid in lump sum in 1 year or spread out at GM's discretion among remaining years.
For example:
Bobby Bonilla $5.0M (2019 - 2023)
Total buyout is $25M (5 years x $5M/yr). GM may pay full 25m in any single season, or any sort of combination among years remaining.
Something random like 0.3m cap hit 2020, 2.7 cap hit 2021 and remaining 22m in 2023 season would be valid.
Keep in mind, a player on expiring deal is simply going open roster spot but have full cap hit count in the given season.
