Rockets - Warrios trade V2
« on: February 04, 2019, 10:39:09 PM »
Well, Landon and I insist to try to make this trade.

Durant $25 (2018)
Golden State Warriors pay $4.2 of Durant's salary only this year

for

Dinwiddie $1,5 (2019)
Ingram $6,5 (2019)
Jordan $8,4 (2020)
1st pick Houston 2020

I talk to Vik if he thinks that adding a 1st pick could change it. Landon accepts the first trade so obviously he accepts this one because he need more eficient and young players than only one player.
I have a solid team and salary cap the next year so i could send 3 players.
- What I see, Dinwiddie is having a great season (he is injured but nothing to worry about) and he is increasing his numbers and already have a nice contract at Brooklyn what makes me think that they want to let him do what he is doing right now.
- Ingram since LeBron was injured has great numbers (last 2 weeks 22.3 pts, 4.3 reb, 3.3 ast) so he is capable of doing great things. Perhaps the best thing is that he has the rookie contract and the last 2 years are team option.
- DeAndre is a solid player and now in New York he could increase his points per game.

There are my reasons and Landon's are left.

Still nowhere close to fair value for an easy top-5 fantasy player year in and year out.

James Harden cost another superstar in John Wall, plus a budding superstar in Donovan Mitchell who barely makes a dent in the cap for 3 seasons and then is RFA so controllable for 7 years.

Dinwiddie is a UFA after next year and I seriously don’t see any value in DeAndre Jordan, as his best years (with Chris Paul as his PG) are well behind him. Especially at that cap hit, as he’s never been a scoring threat.

Also factoring in and I told this to Vik previously, is that GSW have had a hard time getting a GM to committ. Taking away their best player and a top asset and diluting it to Ingram plus a couple scrubs doesn’t convince me.

Really to be anywhere close, both Ingram and Mitchell would have to be on the move to GS here, and then some.

:veto: For a lot of the same reasons as WestCoast to be honest. I think his post goes really in depth on what all is wrong with this trade. We have already established precedent for superstar value in this league, and Houston is falling pretty short of supplying on that end. Durant is an absolute stud that you can build a roster around; there are no flaws to his game in our league.

I gave my word I'd approve a variarion of deal with 1st added so pending GS confirmation  :iatp:

It's unfortunate we had such a high turnover with Warriors this early into our league existence, but I trust Landon is here for long run and if both teams like the deal I do not see it being vetoable this time around.

Durant is a top 5 player but if you really look at everything, GS gets some solid high upside guys and on afforable contracts. Haven't looked but I think Durant will still cost in the 30m+ range with Franchise tag. He is certainly worth it but here GS gets 3 solid pieces with about franction of cap hit

Ingram could get traded within next few days and if not he has still produced nicely. Even if the spike is laregely due to Lebron being out it's clear his future is bright.

Jordan is what he is regardless of team at this point- double double with high FG% and 1-2 blocks a game. Not a game changer but certainly valuable.

Dinwiddie is a wildcard, I am skeptical he can maintain his level of production (which was extremely underrated) prior to injury but maybe GS is more bullish on him.

I will let GS confirm and rest of TC can weigh in.

Not my favorite trade but I don't see any reason to veto it so :iatp: there is no collusion in all going on. I have always said if both teams agree to it then so be it. I personally would have played more for him but wasn't offered anything.

We are nearing the trade deadline and teams have to make decisions on what to do with their large contract players.  This trade makes sense for Golden State.  Instead of paying a ton with a franchise tag to Durant they decide to get younger pieces and a 1st which is huge as that could net a cost controlled player for the length of their rookie contract and gives them the ability to match offers with the RFA designation.  He'll also have that with Ingram.  I have no issues with this trade.

cant argue with west, but i  :iatp: , Durant is expiring and i dont know if :GS: will franchise tag him i guess not, and if not, getting something than losing him for nothing is nice. Production of Jordan and Dinwiddie(if not injured) is fine plus getting a 1st and a young Ingram that can have a good franchise tag contract after 2019 is good. and :HOU-NBA: get durant for a playoff push i guess, so im ok with this.

I have been miffed at the trading of big name players all year and I do not see how this trade will benefit Houston if the one player he wants should get injured tonight and be out for the rest of the season. Sorry I  :veto:
