I do this trade to acquire pieces for the run this year, hard to give up Duchene and Girard, but getting proven production / upgrades on the defensive end will hopefully get me further in the playoffs than last year

I accept. I didn't want to give up Leddy, but I've been faced with the reality that I have a lot of expensive resigns so  I have to pick and choose. This 100% helps the Rangers win this year, and I get to cash in on some of the older guys I got in recent trades.
