Royals - Rockies trade 1-8-18 4:53 pm ET

The Royals send:

     CI Headley, Chase, $3m (2018)

The Rockies send:

     MI Lopez, Nicholas, $0.5m (P-n/a)


The Royals are trying to retool a bit and aren't too concerned with this year's results.  Nicky Lopez has had a mixed year, but most recently had a good fall league showing.

Rockies confirm.  This gives us a CI for 2018 without paying the free agent price.  Lopez is a good MI prospect but we have some other options there.
