The Time has come for New Leadership

As many of you know, the lifeblood of any fantasy league, regardless of sport, is active participation. With that, we all know that real-life events are always a variable, so we all go through periods where we simply have to let things evolve on autopilot.
With that, however, is an understanding that our league cannot sustain itself if inactivity turns into neglect. As league moderators, Rick and I have a responsibility to try and do things for the good of the league, which means that there are times when we have to intervene and ask if a given situation is in the league’s best interest. Such is the case with the
and the
.
Both of the GMs for these teams are longtime members, but both of their teams have slid into mediocrity because of their inactivity. We have been trying to reach them off and on during the season, with an even greater intensity during our FYPD, with a variety of joint and separate PMs and e-mails, but there has been no response. Given their history with FGM, we have delayed taking action in hopes they would come around. Alas, our efforts have been fruitless, and with heavy hearts, we have decided to secure replacements for both teams.
We are awaiting a decision by one of our applicants and another has accepted our invitation to re-join FGM. We hope all of you understand that these decisions are not easy, but a necessary step to insure the continued solvency of our league, Franchise GM.

Will Colby be able to dedicate time to Pittsburgh?
I have considered this question for a few seasons and it is a conundrum of a sorts. I think you knew the answer before you posted, but the question has been raised, so let me offer this.
The short answer is no, probably not, but it is not that simple. It is not simple because this is Colby’s league. He founded it in 2009 as a part of the ProFSL community. It is ProFSL’s original baseball league and Colby established the parameters for FGM to sustain itself as a bonafide fantasy league. So although his participation is sporadic at best, he is a permanent fixture in this league.
I communicate with him through other channels, and yes, he knows his participation leaves something to be desired. He has often expressed the desire to be more active, but alas, we see that he isn’t. His work schedule keeps him very busy, but he remains interested in the activities of FGM. FGM is his baby, which is why he continues to pay the yearly Fantrax fees. He has given me a lot of insights regarding league activity and overall direction, and has relied heavily on others to keep ProFSL together as a fantasy community. He was instrumental in my membership in the league and gave me the impetus to become the co-commissioner of FGM.
Would I like him to be active? Of course, that goes without saying, but I am never going to initiate any action to remove him as a GM. This may not be what you, or others want to hear, but it’s the bare bones explanation as to how I see his continued membership in the league.

I understand and agree with your points. It’s just a shame the franchise is in such poor shape. Even a few minutes spent every week would be a help.

This 2024 NFL Draft class is better than 90% of every draft ive witnessed since 1980. In NFL LIVE if you arent a top ten team, i strongly urge that you invest in 2024 draft.

Unlike all these other sports, THE NFL IS A YOUNG MANS GAME. Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, play till your 40. Not just the greats... Jamie Moyer was never great, pitched till he was 44.

NHL/NFL/MLB LIVE GMs be warned, if you miss a week, you miss a lot in those leagues. Take your time building, take your time evaluating, learn at your own pace.

Just know, if you miss time at any point of the year, not just the active season. You have missed a lot. You've probably fallen behind your competition. Ten-Fifteen guys in all three of those leagues dont ever miss any opportunities.

One more thing. The NFL LIVE waiting list is longer than you see on profsl or fantrax. There are people that know people that want in that league. No pressure on anyone but i cant just hold your franchise while you draft and do nothing else.

i built College football for you guys that do that. Great scoring system, no trades, set your lineup and go getm! NFL moves too fast for that mentality. Apologies.
