Two-way Free Agent Contracts
A free agent skater can be signed to a 2 way contract if the have played 1-39 games or a free agent goalie can be signed to a 2 way contract if they have played 1-29 games.
The cost of their contract will follow regular free agent bidding with their contract being the winning contract plus an additional 500k as a two way contract fee. These players can also still be signed as normal but their contract will be a 1 way contract.

Nothing here to suggest that the contract would have to be for two years, but if it is stipulated that way somewhere else then I will sign both Davidson and Warsofsky to single year $300k contracts and either 1) assign them both directly to Red Deer if I can or 2) temporarily shuttle two existing 2-way contracts (Rakell and Trochek) down for 48hrs while placing both immediately on Waivers.

Yes two way contacts need to be a minimum of two years. Was a rule put in place to reduce chance of players being signed to two ways to be cheaply resigned before an extension period. The rule is stated as stipulation 2 on two way contracts.

As for options, they can be assigned to minors unless signed to two ways, they would need to go through waivers first.
