Braves do this to try to get a reliable bat in our lineup.. We are trading some important pieces but hopefully Abreu will help be a cornerstone in my rebuilding effort

Angels do this trade as we are in the middle of a rebuild and hanging onto Abreu didn't make much sense.  If he was a young bat like Bryant, that would be different, but he is already 28 and when my team is at it's full force he will be in his 30's.  Getting bats is extremely hard in this league unless you draft then or get lucky in FA, then acquiring a bat is next to impossible.  We like the addition of Heyward as many people are giving up on him, but at $4M/yr he is a very affordable talented 25 y/o OF who we can take a chance on.  But, the main reason we do this deal is to add Thor.  We absolutely love adding Thor to this rotation. Price, Shark, Thor, Rodon, Kolek, Folty, Manaea, Crick, H. Harvey and Kingham is going to be a ridiculous pitching staff.
