Can we change this rule for next year so waiver free is done before or at the same time than FA. This would allow us to free up some space/money in our NHL roster for FA?

Do we have a limited number of players we could send via waiver free?

I think it is working as intended and there is no limit of players to waiver free i beleive

Yep, working as intended. Free up cap space during the season before hand.

Ya the waiver free period is not before the FA so that teams have to use the normal waiver system to clear up some cap space and puts more risk to trying to gain that cap space. I currently prefer waiver free where it is.

Only limitation to waiver free is the minor and major caps.

When a minor league player is bought out does the cap hit transfer to the main roster?

yes that is correct. I cant see it in the rule but I remember having to buy someone out that was in my minors because they retired and the cap hit was to main roster, not the minor's

Yep buy outs affect only the major league cap no matter where they reside on your team.

Only players in the last year of their contract can be sent down to the minors.

  • Daddy: Honestly i love the deal because my GMs love it. I dont say good deal bad deal or i like this side better.  My goal is to provide a fair platform where people are free to trade and not be judged because nobody knows for sure how these trades will play out. Lots of ACLs are gonna tear between now and new years.  Im always happy that two strangers with different backgrounds can meet in our league and enjoy freedom to be themselves and do what THEY THINK is best. I love every deal. (Had to share that @Braves) :toast:
