The Yankees and Nats have agreed on a big deal for both clubs.

The Yanks Send

CI Chisenhall, Lonnie, $0.5m (P-n/a)
C-CI Posey, Buster, $4m (2015)

The Nats Send

CI Youkilis, Kevin, $10.5m (2013)


The yankees ship of a top young catcher and power hitting spec in the Chis to acquire a top CI. With the Nats in rebuilding mode for 2012 this acquisition makes sense for them. From the Yanks perspective, win now and win often. Youk will know doubt add valuable production to the offense and join Arod and Dunn in a fearsome CI group.

Nationals confirm while on break at work. I move my best player now for hopefully my best player in the future in Posey, who I feel has a chance of being a top 3 catcher yearly. Chisenhall is projected to be a quality regular, not an all-star, but will hopefully be an ok replacement for
Youkilis down the road.
