International Free Agent Signing RulesThere will be a fee structure allocated for International Signings that won't touch our regular cap. This will be based upon the new Collective Bargaining Agreement in the MLB.
Allocation of International Signing Funds will be determined by the previous year’s Regular Season Winning Percentage and Fantasy Points in Reverse Order. A Google spreadsheet will be created to track this.
All International Signings will start on July 4th of each year. A posting about the applicable player will need to be included from a reputable website.
For 2013 all international players are eligible to be signed. Previously we had to wait a year for the international signings. Therefore this year’s bonus pool allotment will include the following 2 seasons (2012 and 2013) for Fund allotment.
In addition to the International Signing Funds, each club is allowed to sign 6 players for bonuses of $50,000 or less that will not count against its pool.
Trading of International Signing Funds is also allowed but only for the current season.
Bids will start at $50,000 and each subsequent bid needs to be doubled. This allows the finder of the player to start the bidding where they like and the next subsequent bids will need to be doubled. All bids will have to be leading for 48 hours.
ExampleJose Alvarez Jr. has 1st bid of $100,000; this means next bid has to be a minimum of $200,000
Funds will not roll over; if they aren't used then they are gone. Also room will have to be made in the minor league system for all players signed.
Remember these are only the International Signing Rules
Only 5 International Leading Bids are allowed open at one time.
Here is a list of the 2013 Funds available, 2014 Funds will be based upon final standings and added to the 2013 Funds for a total allotment for all 2013 and 2014 international signees.
