Nationals trade MI Erick Aybar $0.5m (P-2010) and P Alex White $0.5m (P-n/a).
Cardinals trade OF Luke Scott $9m (2010) and CI/MI Jayson Nix $0.5m (2011).
We trade a high priced veteran in Luke Scott who loses his CI and OF elegibility under our new rules, along with a backup CI/MI in Jayson Nix.  We are hopeful that Erick Aybar returns to his 2009 form and we also get a good pitching prospect in Alex White.  Nationals to confirm.  Thanks for the smooth negotiations Jake!

Nationals confirm.  Regardless of Scott's eligibility, he is a substantial upgrade over Aybar.  White looked great at AA Eastern, but Scott is simply too valuable.  Hopefully by staying at DH in real life, he will remain healthy and put up numbers all season long in 2011.  Now it's only to decide if I wish to re-sign him, trade him, or place him as an RFA.

Nix currently has no real competition for 3B in Cleveland currently, so he appears to be a starter as of now, and will still provide dual eligibility with the new rules.
