Earlier this year we talked about adding more games to our schedule this season. The 2-game/week schedule was the consensus of the league. There are 20 regular season scoring weeks this season. To create the 2-game schedule there's basically 3 ways to slice it:
Option 1 - Balanced
In this format we all play eachother twice, and we each have 3 matchups against 2 random opponents.
Option 2 - Division weighted
We each play our division rivals 3 times.
vs Division - 12 games (3x each team)
vs League - 28 games (2x vs 13 teams, 1x vs 2 teams)
In this format there's 2 teams that you'll only play once. You'll play everyone else twice and your division rivals three times.
Option 3 - Heavy division weight
We each play our division rivals 4 times.
vs Division - 16 games (4x each team)
vs League - 24 games (2x vs 9 teams, 1x vs 6 teams)
In this format there's 6 teams you'll play once, 9 teams you'll play twice and you'll play your division rivals 4 times.
What do you all think?
I think Option 2 makes the most sense, assuming we want to add division matchups. With all the heavy hitters in the CE and MW divisions this could have some serious playoff implications for very good teams, so I definitely want to hear from teams in those divisions.
