The Marlins are making this trade to add another starter to the club.  Unfortunately some of the past trades haven't panned out and lost some to injuries.  The cash helps to offset beckett salary. Hope this keeps us within striking distance of a crazy scoring Nationals team.

I did this to get the underwhelming Beckett outta Boston. Had to deal a little cash out in the future, but i couldnt see me dealing him w/o having to do so. I get a pick to gain a quality prospect, and Brice has good stuff, just needs some command to come along. Accept.
