The Preds have 7 days to either match the offer sheet or let him go the Flyers.  If he goes to the Flyers the Preds get 4 1st round picks.  The Flyers have once again ruined the fun for all the other teams with their greed.

4 - 1st rounders is a lot , i say Nashville should take it.  Shea obviously doesnt want to play for them or they just were not offering the right amount of money.  The match really depends on if Shea really wants to be in Nashville.

I think this is a move to replace pronger since I dont see him coming back anytime soon.

My bad, it might only be 2 1st round picks, 1 2nd and 1 3rd if the cap hit is under 7.85 million.  That isn't so bad I suppose.  No way the Preds let him go.  At the least they can match the offer and then trade him to the Flyers for more of what they want, sorta like Carmello Anthony.

I have read if the Preds match the offer he cannot be traded for 1 calender year, and the way the Flyers structured the offer the Preds would have to match $26 million in that 1st year with all the signing bonuses.  So that is a kibosh to the sign and trade situation.

Dunno if a smaller market team like the Preds can swing that much money.

I have to say, Holmgren really handcuffed the preds with the deal. If they match he cant be moved for a year. Heavily front loaded that they wont want to keep him for the year and then trade him. 

It really comes down to match and keep him or let him go the the flyers.  It will be interesting to see how Philly works around the cap now.

They could come to a trade agreement with Philly, agree not to match then swap some of the picks for other pieces. Its been done in the past.

After seeing what the Blue Jackets got in return you have to think GM's never want to give a player a No-Trade Clause ever again.  The Blue Jackets got a couple more disappointing centers to pass to the already disappointing wingers they had, but added another could be good prospect D-man to defend in front of their inconsistent netminders. 

Solid chance to get another lottery pick.
