The Angels and Reds get along too well. They have agreed to the following deal:
Angels receive:
Josh Fields $0.5 (2011)
Brent Morel $0.5 (P-n/a)
Carlos Fisher $0.5 (P-n/a)
Reds receive:
Howie Kendrick $6.5 (2011)
$2 million paid by Angels in 2010
I do this trade with a slight abundance of MI's and a bit of shakiness at CI. I don't trust Chipper to last a whole season, so receiving Fields will hopefully land me a starter for the Royals and he decides to play better with a new team. Morel is doubtful to come up in 2010 with the Sox acquiring Teahen, but will hopefully produce down the road, and has received good scouting reports at the 3B spot. Fisher is an ok strikeout pitcher who rounds out my relievers (can never have too many). Reds receive a good MI, but I can't stand it when Scoscia platoons him, so I feel he is worth the return. If he was a full timer, I'd think otherwise.
Reds to confirm. Make sure I got the figures right, Dano. Giggity.
