For the Avs, this is clearly about selling players to get younger and to get some good (hopefully) prospects.
Not going to do any damage this season so we are solely building for the future.

We have plenty of young players but not enough vets kicking around the roster to compete in this league. So I pulled the trigger with the Capn and popped my trade cherry to boot. lol

Dealing Dumba and the First Rder is like taking a shot in the nuts but if it makes my team better sooner than later I'm going to do the deal. I like that both Dupuis and Gerbe are eligible at two positions which makes them a little more useful and they have very reasonable contracts.

Guance is a good prospect to sit on while the real Avs rebuild.

The way I see things it's like trading
Mayfield, First Rder = Dupuis a 135 point guy or 175 last yr
Dumba = Gerbe a 2nd liner for the Sabres, only 25yo
Second Rder, Mallet = Guance
Three free throw ins from Cohen, Paliotta, 4th Rder
