Revenue Sharing FYI

The following teams must make the amount of money available to small market teams either by allocating players to the RS pool or giving up cash.

Yankees - $11.5m
Mets - $10m
Phillies - $10m
Tigers - $5m
Angels - $2m
Cubs - $0.5m

The following teams have money available to them to either bid on players in the RS pool or restructure contracts.

Marlins - $11m

Padres - $7.5m
Rays - $5m
Rangers - $5m
Athletics - $4m
Nationals - $2.5m
Brewers - $2.5m
Pirates - $1.5m
Twins - $0.5m
Diamondbacks - $0m

All RS bids follow standard FA bidding rules with an exception that all bids must be settled by 11:59pm EST November 20th, 2009.  An RS bid cannot be final until 11:59pm EST October 31st, 2009.

The amount the big market teams allocate for a given player is based on their final bid.  Small market teams only have the RS money to use on bidding on players in the RS pool.

Just a 32 hour reminder here about the remaining RS players...

With all of the RS bids now clear, the money allocated from the big market (BM) teams to the small market (SM) teams works in reverse.

Marlins - $11m
Padres - $7.5m
Rays - $5m
Rangers - $4.5m
Nationals - $2.5m
Brewers - $2.5m
Pirates - $1.5m
Athletics - $1m
Twins - $0.5m
Diamondbacks - $0m

TOTAL = $36m

We start taking the $36m off of the top (Yankees) until they reach the team below them (Mets and Phillies) and then money is taken off of their totals evenly until the next threshold (Tigers) is hit and so forth...

Yankees - $11.5m - $1.5m = $10m
Mets - $10m
Phillies - $10m
Tigers - $5m
Angels - $2m
Cubs - $0.5m

TOTAL SO FAR = $1.5m

Yankees - $10m - $5m = $5m
Mets - $10m - $5m = $5m
Phillies - $10m - $5m = $5m
Tigers - $5m
Angels - $2m
Cubs - $0.5m
==================
TOTAL SO FAR = $16.5m

Yankees - $5m - $3m = $2m
Mets - $5m - $3m = $2m
Phillies - $5m - $3m = $2m
Tigers - $5m - $3m = $2m
Angels - $2m
Cubs - $0.5m
==================
TOTAL SO FAR = $28.5m

$7.5m left to be divided evenly among the Yankees, Angels, Mets, Phillies, and Tigers...

Yankees - $2m = $1.5m = $500k
Mets - $2m = $1.5m = $500k
Phillies - $2m = $1.5m = $500k
Tigers - $2m = $1.5m = $500k
Angels - $2m = $1.5m = $500k
Cubs - $0.5m

TOTAL SO FAR = $36m

All six of the above teams get by RS by paying $500k less than what they could have paid thanks to some of the RS bids.

All of the RS allocations will be shown as a Cash allocation at the top of each team's finances on their official rosters.
