TRASH! Two players go to Houston on dirt cheap deals who scored 1000+ points for Mallex, Jank, and Holt who didn't have a combined 1000. Additionally, the prospect return is garbage. Tapia is good but the Cuban is at least four years away. This package deserves a way better package. Not close.

You seem to have some rage issues.

Raimel Tapia is #71 on mlb's top prospects list which is a higher ranking than any prospect in your entire system.  Lorenzo Cedrola is a top 20 Gulf Coast League prospect for Baseball America and ranked one spot lower than Austin Franklin on that list.  Franklin was a third round pick in this year's draft.  So a top 100 guy and an equivalent value to a 3rd round pick is hardly anything close to garbage.

Mallex, Jank, and Holt factually did score more than 1,000 combined and would have scored more if not for Mallex breaking his thumb and Holt having a nagging shoulder injury and fluke concussion.

In addition, Bradley's 2017 projected Arb figure is $3.3m and up from there in 2018 so the Astros are adding salary here by giving up prospects and 2nd year Arb deals.

Mallex is garbage. I've watched him too many times and all he contributes is speed. Jankowski had a super over achieving year. He does not have a good pedigree at all. Holt is a utility infielder. Tapia, I said he was good although he isn't a world beater. Cedrola isn't even top ten in his system and still hasn't gotten out of rookie ball.

Bradley is a gold Glover who finally found his swing at the major league level. Ramirez helped carry Cleveland all year.

My system has nothing to do with this trade. I have a few top 100 along with guys on the fast track. I probably have 40-45 top 30s which is better than most.

God forbid if someone says your trade is trash.

This is a classic Astros trade in which they clearly come out "winners" IMO.

That said, no collusion and even if I think one side "won" it doesn't matter because I believe both owners are acting in good faith and trying to do what they believe is best for their club and I respect that.

 :iatp:

PS please don't cite others "crappy" farm systems to justify trades. That has nothing to do with this trade.

  • Jwalkerjr88: It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)
  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
