I do this trade to acquire two centers. I'm very weak at the position. I unload some low round draft picks to move up a little. I also move some unwanted contracts. I'm hoping Langkow can come back and be somewhat productive this season.

I do this deal to drop some more salary and get another high pick. I also wanted to unload some other picks as I am limited on salary of how much I can take on. I don't need a team full of role players. With my two higher picks in the draft I have acquired I am taking on all the salary I want to. I have my lower round picks to pick up any prospects to store on my team. I think this is a good deal that fits needs of both teams.

Sabres to confirm.

The Flyers and Flames have come to a deal:

Ville Leino LW $3,400,000 (13/14)
Round 1 Pick 18
Round 3 Pick 18

for

Round 1 Pick 6

Flyers agree to do this deal for two reasons. First is I get back a little cap space and I feel I am deep at LW. I also get a higher pick which I am really happy about. I think this is a good deal for both that fits both our needs.
