The Dean Lombardi Award (most active on the ProFSL board)
:DAL-NHL:
Dallas was very active in offseason FA, landing Brayden Schenn and a lot of good depth pieces.  I believe this was key to Dallas' first playoff appearance (If I'm reading my BY history right).

The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
:STL-NHL:
SlackJack has built the best BY squad this year, in my opinion.  I had considered the Rangers for this award until I noticed the Most Improved award.

The Wayne Gretzky Award (best centers)
:BOS-NHL:
(Disclaimer - I base this on fantasy, not real life.  If a player is position eligible, then he counts for me)
Stamkos and Seguin.  If Domi progresses I fully expect to vote for myself for many more years.

The Luc Robitaille Award (best left wings)
:EDM:
Landslide.  Ovi, Hall, Pacioretty.

The Gordie Howe Award (best right wings)
:PIT-NHL:
Even more of a landslide.  Kane, Tarasenko, Pavelski.

The Bobby Orr Award (best defensemen)
:STL-NHL:
Burns and Karlsson would win this for STL alone, but throw in Suter and it's not even close.

The Patrick Roy Award (best goalies)
:VAN:
Anderson, Dubnyk, Rinne.  If only this team had some offensive names...

The Brian Burke Award (best draft)
:LA:
I thought I would have a hard time with this, but it only took me a few seconds to make up my mind.  5 picks in the 1st round with 4 of the first 5...

The Eric Lindros Award (most unluckiest team)
:BOS-NHL:
We had an underwhelming season, but still on a points basis should have made the playoffs.  Got off to a putrid start and couldn't recover.  But even so we had 300 more points than the #8 seed.

The Dale Tallon Award (most improved team)
:NYR:
Love to see a team pull themselves from a non-playoff position to a top seed.

The Dean Lombardi Award (most active on the ProFSL board) :STL-NHL: SlackJack - He is definitely the most active of the GMs.

The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM) :CHI-NHL: Tony - I agree with Slack; 6th straight season in the finals.

The Wayne Gretzky Award (best centers) :BOS-NHL: Rob - Seguin, Stamkos, Domi

The Luc Robitaille Award (best left wings) :EDM: Drew - Ovechkin, Hall, Pacioretty

The Gordie Howe Award (best right wings) :PIT-NHL: Mariner - Kane, Pavelski, Tarasenko

The Bobby Orr Award (best defensemen) :STL-NHL: SlackJack - Burns, Karlsson, Suter

The Patrick Roy Award (best goalies) :NYR: Cho - Holtby, Schneider, Vasilevski

The Brian Burke Award (best draft) :LAK: Winter - Its hard to argue.

The Eric Lindros Award (most unluckiest team) :BOS-NHL: Rob - In the beginning of the season, I thought he would of challenged for the cup. Just more proof that the injury bug is a hard obstacle.

The Dale Tallon Award (most improved team) :NYR: Cho - If anyone can contest this nomination, they will need a very good reason. First time the Rangers are in the playoffs and their future looks very bright. Good job, man.

The Dean Lombardi Award (most active on the ProFSL board) :STL-NHL: SlackJack is always active. I wish I was more like him

The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM) :CHI-NHL: Tony is consistently competing around here. He's assembled such a great team and still makes moves to try to make it better.

The Wayne Gretzky Award (best centers) :BOS-NHL: Rob - Seguin and Stamkos is killer

The Luc Robitaille Award (best left wings) :EDM: Drew - Ovechkin, Hall, Pacioretty is the easy choice here

The Gordie Howe Award (best right wings) :PIT-NHL: Mariner - Kane, Pavelski, Tarasenko, Stone... so strong on the right

The Bobby Orr Award (best defensemen) :STL-NHL: SlackJack - Burns, Karlsson, Suter is great, but coming in at a really close second is :TOR-NHL:

The Patrick Roy Award (best goalies) :NYR: Cho - Holtby, Schneider, Vasilevski and Condon stepping in for an injured Price

The Brian Burke Award (best draft) :LAK: Winter - They did have some great picks including Conner McDavid

The Eric Lindros Award (most unluckiest team) :MON-NHL: I feel like this team should have finished way higher in the standings. It's got some talent. I think its current GM is really going to show us something next year  :toast:

The Dale Tallon Award (most improved team) :NYR: Cho - Such a big improvement and the team still has all its draft picks and some good young talent. Talk about not having to sell your future just to improve now.

The idea is you build your team with a salary of XXX and then every 2-3 seasons you have decisions to make. Field a 26 man roster, control your own pitching rotation, pen, lineup & bench like the true MLB. Draft every season where there's a lot of turnover. Interesting for sure.

Julio Aguilar/Getty ImagesJayden Daniels was selected by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft By Fernando Franco Puga  The Washington Commanders have received some very bad news. Jayden Daniels, who they picked with the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 Draft, may soon be banned from the NFL after violating a very important rule.   In the 2024 NFL Draft, several teams were in need of a top quarterback to bolster their offenses. With the 2nd overall pick, the Commanders decided to select Jayden Daniels, one of the best prospects at the position.  Daniels had a remarkable path through LSU, even breaking some of Joe Burrow’s records. However, the quarterback’s career is now in jeopardy after he admitted to breaking the league’s rules regarding gambling.   Jayden Daniels openly admits to violating the NFL’s gambling policy Worrying news has arrived in Washington today. Jayden Daniels, their 1st-round pick this year, has openly admitted to violating the NFL’s gambling policy, and his rookie season is in jeopardy.  NFL Draft: Jayden Daniels admits whether he'd like to play for the Washington Commanders SEE ALSO  NFL Draft: Jayden Daniels admits whether he'd like to play for the Washington Commanders  During a recent appearance on the “All Facts, No Brakes” podcast, Daniels revealed that he has a bet with Malik Nabers, the New York Giants‘ 6th overall pick, on who’s going to be this year’s NFL Offensive rookie.   “Man, he wasn’t supposed to tell nobody,” Daniels said about Nabers revealing the bet. “We got a little something going on. I mean, he put it out there, so it’s like I can’t say he cap.”  Keyshawn Johnson, host of the podcast, asked Daniels about the bet. The quarterback admitted that the wager for $10,000 is real, but he was clearly uncomfortable with the question.    Jayden Daniels Jayden Daniels with LSU “Going against him is gonna be fun,” Nabers said, via the New York Daily News. “We got a bet going for Rookie of the Year. Whoever loses gotta pay, I think it’s $10,000 cash.”  Nabers and Daniels were teammates at LSU. They are set to meet in at least two games in the upcoming season. However, this gamble could get them both banned from the NFL, as they are clearly violating the league’s gambling policy.  What does the NFL gambling policy says about betting? This situation will pose a huge challenge for the Commanders and the Giants. The league strictly prohibits players from engaging in any form of gambling related to the NFL, as it undermines the integrity of the game.  SEE ALSO  2024 NFL Draft picks by team: How many picks does each team have?  The policy explicitly prohibits ‘private wagers between teammates, family and friends, or others.’ This situation could land the two rookies in trouble, potentially resulting in a ban for the former LSU players.  SURVEY Should Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers be banned over their bet?  Yes No ALREADY VOTED 1162 PEOPLE  Fernando Franco Puga Fernando Franco is an accomplished writer and sports journalist specializing in soccer, NFL, MLB, and MMA.
