Shouldn't goalie extensions be increased? Seems like goalies should be paid the most since they're the absolute toughest player position to acquire in free agency or trade.

I say we increase goalie extensions for the start of 2013-14?

Checkout the top goalie salaries for 2013-14 on capgeek
http://capgeek.com/leaders/?season=2013&type=SALARY&position=G&limit=50

The top goalie extension in our league should be more along the lines of NHL salaries plus 30% just because there's no rule in place to stop teams from owning more than 1 starter which is messed up but whatever. So the top goalie ext would be 10.4m and so on. What do you commissioners think?

Hit me up with a rebate on this. Hawks bought out Erik last month.
Thanks guys!

Hawks make a deadline deal to add a vet to whip the kids into shape for the post season. Every champonship team needs a good mix of vets. LOL

To SJ
Round 3 pick (originally from EDM) and Center Michael Sgarbossa, $0.2m (2013-2014)

To CHI
LW,Steve Sullivan, $1.5m (2013-2014)

We didn't want to overpay for a 38yo injury prone player on his last leg and his contract expires next year so it's not a longterm marriage either. We are just in it for a quickie roll in the sack and a trip to the finals. YEAH! :Koolaid: Sgarbossa is going to be a great player next yr, he's tearing it up in the AHL and the 3rd RD pick is worth it to add scoring on the left side.

Draft pick king to confirm! :afro:

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Hawks and Sharks deal D
« on: March 08, 2013, 01:53:49 PM »
I might regret this. No. I will definitely regret this trade next yr but I got to add another D to keep my Hawks ahead of the pack.

Chicago acquires
Travis Hamonic, $4.7m (2014-2015)
Round 4 - 2013 from Sens

San Jose receives
Brent Burns, $4.7m (2014-2015)

Sharks hit me up with a deal to move injured Burns and a pick for Hamonic but that wasn't going to happen. Burns is a big gun on D on a usually strong team but the Sharks suck this yr and I gave up a lot to get Burns so I'm not giving anymore to move him. I was better off sitting on Burns but the 4th round pick changed my mind. Still feel Burns is worth more but I need an active D and overpriced Hamonic will have to do right now.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Hawks moves

Hawk need a price check and rebate on Matt Greene. Think he signed with Ottawa for a couple of pennies. LOL

Then we're going to b/o this punk who hasn't done much
Erik Gustafsson, $0.2m (2013-2014) Just roll it into this yr. :toth:

Thanks!

Zach was a talented kid with a good rookie season shaping up then some numb nuts pulls a Matt Cooke on him and that's all she wrote.  :rool:

Toss Zachary on LTIR. Have a good vacation bud!
Thanks boys!

Seems to me there's too many Hawks, Oilers, Maple Leafs and Red Wings fans running around this place LOL

Let's get more rabid Orange and Black crazies in this league.   :winner:
Papps, Cheesesteak and I could use the company. What do ya say commish!?  :P :iatp:

PS While we're at it can we dump those wimpy Pens fans running around here. At least round 'em up and lay a beating on 'em.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Hawks and Oil pull trigger on trade
« on: February 23, 2013, 06:42:34 PM »
Edmonton and Chicago announce a trade.
Each team trades a little of its heart and soul to fill a need. Oilers need Dmen. Hawks need a wing. Oil get a draft pick for taking some additional salary.

To EDM
Dman Duncan Keith, $5.5m (2017-2018)
CHI 3rd rounder

To CHI
RW Drew Stafford, $3.9m (2013-2014)

Edmonton will be by to confirm.  :toast:

FINALLY! Talk about clay footed organizations or put another way flat out stupid sports management.

Islanders finally admit Dipietro's a corpse that needs to be buried in the A. That 15yrs deal was by far the biggest joke in pro sports and the entire Islander front office that allowed that deal to pass should've been lined up against a wall and stoned. No guns, too clean. LOL

That's what happens when you let a bunch of uneducated, stickwielding, frozen water dancing, rubber chasing cavemen run a business. Somehow I think 1000 monkeys in the Islanders front office could've run that organization better with the same amount of sideshow trainwreck drama. Wait. No. Less!

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Scoring and roster fix post trade
« on: February 20, 2013, 11:16:28 PM »
Hockeyfreak and Pigsrule can you guys fix my roster for last evening? After the trade between my Hawks and the Islanders was processed it messed up my roster making it illegal. You can check I preset my lineup until today.

Thanks guys!

  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.

  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen
    Yesterday at 01:52:08 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Trading isnt easy. But neither is winning
    Yesterday at 01:52:22 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: If you made a list of the most aggressive gms to have stepped foot in nfl live, you will notice the champions will be among them

  • Jwalkerjr88: You arent gonna win every trade and you HAVE to have a plan. Ive made some horrible trades. I have every year
    Yesterday at 01:53:50 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
    Yesterday at 01:54:28 PM
  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • BayAreaBallers: although my last draft class and fa class kinda lead me to a run so it can happen
    Yesterday at 02:27:21 PM
  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
  • Brent: postured
  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did
    Yesterday at 03:13:02 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
    Yesterday at 03:13:31 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide
    Yesterday at 03:14:39 PM

  • BayAreaBallers: very good pt yes i did gain lot of capital which propelled me to make more moves from that trade
    Yesterday at 03:34:25 PM
  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.

  • Daddy: Whoever it was, he got six more choices on top of that. The "win win" scenario.
  • Daddy: At that time i had no RB1. So i traded an entire draft class to get one.
