When does FA period begin?

Our FA was supposed to start after this supplemental draft that is currently ongoing, but Rob said we could start it once all the entry level draft keepers were determined.  So, I'd say technically it has begun right now.  Our draft is nearly over so it'll be soon either way.

As much as I want the FA to start I think it was intended to start after the rookie draft and should probably hold off until Rob is back. 

My other league we are waiting until the start of pre-season so that all the owners are active and back into hockey again.

Are the minor max players able to increase? With the entry draft keepers and supplemental wont it get teams close to max?

We could discuss an increase to the minor league roster limit.  I think the 10 player roster forces teams to make tough decisions.  I had to make a couple this year to stay within the limit, and I am going to have to make a couple more since my minor league roster has 2 too many players.  Make a post on the main board to gather opinions on it if you feel strongly that a change needs to be made.

And also am I able to get a released player back since no one picked him up like my D Michalek??

No, all released players go to FA.  You can bid on him then.

No I wanted to keep minor players, but I understand where you are coming from.

If you bid on him you still have to pay the cap hit for the previously released contract.  So if you re-sign him for $2m a year you'll effectively be paying him $6m.

None   That cap hit is locked in.

During free agency when we are bidding on guys who still qualify for prospect contracts, like Jakob Silfverberg for instance, does any bid over just the prospect contract count as a signing bonus?

So right now Beantown has a 1m bid in, does that all just count as a 1m signing bonus this year?  How does that work?
