:BOS-NHL: has 0.1 cap space available.
this 2nd FA winning bid puts Bruins over the cap.
bid invalidated by Bruins not clearing cap space for final winning bid within 24hrs of bid closing.

2nd FA bidding violation = 5% Cap Penalty
:BOS-NHL: cannot bid on this player until after 2012-13 contracts expiry deadline of July 3, 2013.

winning bid closed January 23, 2013, 02:14:27 PM, submitted by Boston.

I have checked every day to see that this was posted as officially won.  I don't even know of an efficient way to ensure they are eligible to be bid on.  I was clearly planning on clearing cap.  Furthermore, the first post you've posted on either of these weren't that they were won but that there were penalties.  Please reverse these penalties and allow me to continue with normal business.

Boston the rules are in place and you being the one who wrote them you should know them by heart especially prior to submitting two FA bids with only 0.1m in avail cap space. if for any reason the salary totals are incorrect and you do have avail cap space, the ruling can be reversed and we can proceed with the signings. pl verify.

every team has 24hrs to remedy their cap situation to allow them to sign their winning FA player(s).

it would not be fair to bend rules for one team given the facts and the rules outlined.

Boston franchise now has a deadline in place to become cap compliant. please refer to the violation section on the team pg.

PIGS you didn't declare the bid won, how was I to know that the bid was official?  If I just start posting on a bid that is pending the declaration it looks like the last bid time was extended and that causes delays as well and confusion.  I bid on two players at minimum contract and was planning on making drops.  Why wasn't the bid declared won the day it was won if we're sticking to the rules.

I checked and both bids were placed jan 23 @ 7am.  There was no designation of these players being officially won until the 27th.  That should be when the clock starts.  I have no clue if these players were officially won until management alludes to it.  I then responded before the 24 hour deadline of your first post on this issue.  I believe I remained within the time period.  I have never known in any sport league for a signing deadline to begin before the player was even declared won.  This is the standard way to proceed and I was merely waiting for the response by management.

chris, we haven't done things that way since back when Peter + Mike were organizing the league.

i shouldn't have to reiterate this, but let me put it in terms you understand... we all have lives and i'm not a human computer system that automatically monitors each fantasy hockey player free agent contract placed on this section of the profsl website.

i volunteer to organize a fantasy hockey league for enjoyment not to help you remember when you bid on your fantasy player. you are asking for special treatment... i don't know why.

please understand you need to take ownership of your own team and if you cannot follow-up in a timely manner as set out by the rules you wrote, then at least please understand why your fantasy team is being penalized.

This is simply not the case : http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=83729.0 compared to the very last won free agent the practice was for the management to confirm the won player.  I ask for the same treatment.

chris, this is simple but it's starting to take too much time to explain to you. you are the only one asking for special treatment.

it's not the 1st time either.

if a team has cap, they can sign a player.
the example you cite above (and many other times you are not happy with your situation) is not applicable. verify your facts before trying to call out others.

other discussions can be via PM to hockeyfreak47, drew + myself.

  • ldsjayhawk: @jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe.  I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade.  Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for.  I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

  • Brent: Nope, 32-team contract league.

  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.
  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).
