makes this trade to grab some value for an expiring contract that I would not be able to re-sign. The Arbitration salaries are getting expensive and we cannot afford to keep the aging star, especially as the numbers tail off a bit. While we're still in contention for the the title, some moves must be made for the long term health of the franchise and this is a trade of necessity, so getting 2 top 10 org prospects is a solid return.
