Rule Discussion: Scoring System

I am thinking to get rid of the  +/- stat. It is more of a frustrating stat then anything as it only accounts for even strength GF/GA. Either that or adding a corresponding PP point stat that would even out the plus/minus stat. So say someone is -10 on the season but has 20 PP points they would receive 30 x point value for the season as the difference between those.

Thoughts? Also what stats would you ideally add or remove?

I feel that it is required, but I also do not feel it should be worth .25 points. It should probably be worth .1 points so it does not affect our totals as much, but it still has a small part in the system.

We need more negative points than just penalties. If everything is all upside, than there is no risk/reward factor to the game.

I think that if we adjust the player stats we then have to adjust the goalie stats or goalies will then be that much more valuable. Then u run into the problem of people getting upset that we changed the stats after they paid a ton to get a goalie.  I say we leave it alone we have it pretty good where I think just about every team could win the cup.

I agree with Jesse even tho last year those plus and minus were the decision makers for some of my lost I'm not to keen on changeing rules to much.

Want more discussion on this you guys. Also what about adding Shootout points, they wouldn't be much but it is an important part of the actual NHL games that we don't have in our stats, it determines a lot more than +/- in my opinion.

I would like to see more discussion on this topic. Shoot outs are part of the game and I think if we want to mirror the NHL as close as possible..........It's something we should look at.

I strongly disagree with changing the scoring system its too late into the leagues life
