Following the :TBL: Lightning's trade with :COL-NHL: their roster has exceeded the maximum limit by 1.

A buy-out/release must be made immediately. This situation cannot be corrected by a trade.

I does sound interesting. I will dig on Fantrax and see what it means.

To create a schedule weighted toward Conference and Division matchups would that have to be done manually or push a button on Fantrax?
Yes BB it would have to be entered manually. Each matchup painstakingly 1 at a time. However once inputted once this can be auto set to carry over each season. My suggestion...we use last years exact schedule for each club. Once inputted, it is there forever.

Someone(s) then got to input the schedule. (Assigning at least one person to post the schedule onsite in a thread individually starting at week one, and a fantrax designated  inputter(s) building the schedule. I did this for a baseball league simulating 100+ games.

We can do this if the league wants it.

:iatp: Avs cleaned up on this deal given Semin was exposed to FA 3 times last yr. So getting anything for Semin is a big bonus. Good news for the Bolts is Semin's got a tiny cap hit with big potential if he shows up.
Just cause Semin was exposed doesn't make him less viable. I expect a bounce back. ( Daddy's Semin is always better than expected  )

When its all said & done track the draft picks production verse Semin in 2-3 years. Then you will know who won this trade. (Its always Daddy)  :iatp:

You post whatever and whenever you want man! :toast:

I don't remember anyone ever bringing it up.
Good idea.
Fantrax allows for multiple matchups each wk.
What's the thinking behind it? Better way to get clear results of top teams?

Guess we'd set the best lineup and it would matchup against 2 teams instead of one.

Snug, you know more about this kind of setup being a commish in Dynasty.
Thanks man...(forget Jonathan )

I built the schedule in fantrax for Scouting Department (Corey made the schedule but it was implemented in fantrax by me) I would be happy to do the same for FNHL (if needed)

Yes, fantrax allows you to set multiple opponents in the same week...this allows a more realistic simulation imo. The rewards are clear, it gives a truer sense of the strongest teams & playoff teams/matchups are more deserved.

Division weighted scheduling also builds up rivalries & drives up interest. As a new GM having only 1 year vested in FNHL I did not wish to step on tradition, however I felt we could make a great league even better by increasing matchups to provide a more realistic total simulation.

The current schedule only needs to be edited to accomplish this task. If the matter can be voted on or approved, it is not overly complicated to achieve. We could have an 82 game schedule (by having 4 opponents for 16 weeks = 64 games & 3 opponents the final 6 weeks)

This is the best hockey league Ive ever been a part of, so if it stayed the same it wouldn't kill me, I would LOVE an 82 game simulation with all you fine gents.  :toast:

22 regular season weeks

Playing a 3 opponent per week format (scheduling can be adjusted to this format) would give us a 66 week simulation where each team can get the chance to play each team at least once. Division foes can have a true barometer of division heavy schedules. The entire league would in my opinion have a truer barometer.

I cant speak for everyone, just speaking for myself the one game per week (or 22 game season) seems to drag & lack competitive balance (true season long simulation) & decreasing interest (again just my opinion).

Thanks again.  :toast:

Has there ever been a discussion of playing multiple opponents per week?

Is this a topic that can be or has been raised, or possibly voted on?

I love the league and want to stress that this is not a complaint.

Thank you  :toast:

For

Round 3 - 2015
Round 3 - 2015 (from :STL-NHL:)
Round 4 - 2015

Semin is a low risk/high reward gamble at $2.2m. Thanks for the picks Daddy. Easy deal.  :toast:
I like Semin more than I do these picks even at 31 yo. especially given his LW, RW eligibility.

Thanks for the deal SJ

Franchise NHL / Re: TOP 10 FNHL OWNERS
« on: May 04, 2015, 03:40:11 PM »
My list goes like this:

1. :FLO: Pigsrule
The league is where it is because he invested the cash and the time to pull it from the gutter! And he even brought me out of retirement and back into fantasy sports (you're a bastard PR LOL).

2. :CHI-NHL: :CLS: PsychoticPondGoons
The co-commish gets love from himself! OF COURSE! This role takes a crap load of GD good drinking time out of my days so you know I love this league and you guys to to do all this free labor!!!

3. :NAS: :NYR: :ANA: :MON-NHL: e40
The man deserves a lot of credit for lifting the entire league to where it is today by investing in four franchises last season as we went through a major transition from free to paid money league. Here's to a great owner, sports fan and Profsl AND FNHL investor. :toast:

4. :OTT: :LAK: DickieDunn
Looking at the league history and draft positions, I'm reminded DD took over Ottawa as a last place team and turned them into the Presidents' Trophy winner the next season. Then followed that up by leading newly purchased Kings franchise to a perfect season, the Presidents' Trophy and the FNHL Championship!

5. :PHI-NHL: Papps
Papps gets props for his sheer staying power as a founding owner of FNHL, his ability to Bobby Clarke it up around here from time to time and go hard into the corners year after year.

6. :TOR-NHL: Thunderblade
He gets the same love from me for being a founding owner, the only other one left in FNHL since 2010. Unfortunately his FNHL Buds are in serious need of some TLC if they want to compete otherwise they might as well follow the lead of the NHL Leafs and do a major rebuild.

7. :WIN: :NYI: JohnnyWeissFlog
Ranks slightly higher than Izaman on my list because he's invested in a second franchise. He competes hard and makes things happen. Also those Jets of his have been a major pain for my Hawks since he joined. Bring it on in 2015-16.

8. :DET-NHL: Izaman3
Initially helped with the rebuilding effort in :PIT-NHL: then moved onto :DET-NHL: when the Wings were looking for new ownership. He's been keeping the Wings near or at the top of one of the toughest divisions in FNHL, Atlantic Division ever since! He can build a winner!

9. :WAS-NHL3: :EDM: Jonathan
Another guy who's been around for some time. Initially lead the :STL-NHL: Blues then took over :WAS-NHL3: when they were searching for new ownership. Then he reupped and invested in another FNHL franchise to support the league. He also knows when to stir it up. Got my respect in a lot of ways. :toast:

10. :COL-NHL: SlackJack (also recent owner of :CAR-NHL:)
Slack introduced FNHL to a second great owner in Fav_zomg (who just missed the Top 10 cut) when he bought a second franchise in his first year. We love the guys who have invested time and money into the league. Doesn't stop there. Slack was likely the busiest owners at the Trade Deadline in February completing what must be a record 12 trades. Has any other owner made more deals at the deadline? Doubt it. He looks to come from on the DD School of Franchise Rebuilding.

  • ldsjayhawk: @jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe.  I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade.  Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for.  I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

  • Jwalkerjr88: Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
    Today at 01:54:28 PM
  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
  • Brent: postured
  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did
    Today at 03:13:02 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
    Today at 03:13:31 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide
    Today at 03:14:39 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: *your

  • BayAreaBallers: very good pt yes i did gain lot of capital which propelled me to make more moves from that trade
    Today at 03:34:25 PM
  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
