This was brought to me by CBJ61. Since we do not allow players that don't have contracts ending this season to be sent down to minors, he suggested that you can put players on waivers that don't have contracts ending this season and they can be claimed by teams. If they are not claimed they return to their respective team.Thoughts?
Would this be up and down? If players are claimed going up would we still be on the hook for 50% of the contract?
It would only be for players on your major league rosterExample I would like to try and get rid of Crosby, so I place him on waivers but since he has a contract that extends past this season he can't be sent down. So I put him on 24 hour waivers and if someone claims him they take him on. If no one claims him, he stays on my team.
so only for 24 hours and how many times can you put a player on waivers??so when a team claims the player the team that claimed will take on full contract??
Any objections? If none then RC could you please vote on the following:A player can be put on waivers if not in the last year of their contract but can not be sent to the minors. They will go on waivers for 24 hours and if claimed the claiming team takes on the full contract for the player. If unclaimed the player will go back to their respective team at their full contract. This process can be done 4 times in a season per teamRC please let me know if there is something I should add/remove/edit.
