Franchise GM: Invalid Transactions / Re: yanks and rockies trade
« on: June 22, 2011, 04:48:07 PM »
If this one gets vetoed as I am suspecting it will, I am going to kindly ask all 29 other teams to please not offer me any trades as the amount of offers and PM's is overwhelming to me. Everyone wants players off of the Rocks and not so much prey, but attempt to possibly obtain a player from a new GM. I have already had 2 trades vetoed and a 3rd within a week is really bad. I will look at specs, free agent signings, extensions etc. of that nature, but no trading for me for awhile. There is a reason that Colby has a rule that a new GM cannot trade for 2 weeks. I know player value, but I need to step back and really look at things. Thanks for understanding.

Bottomline, I am going for it all this year and the 2 SP will help me out while Bucholz is on DL. Blackburn has pitched great in his last 7 starts. Stewart was a top 10 spec in the jays system for some time and the dual sp/rp ability does give me an advantage. Hinske is my answer for my open CI spot until Wright returns. He is getting regular playing time in atlanta with Prado out.

I confirm.

I love it that my Rocks are on top, but I want to be on top once the playoffs end! Good luck to everyone as we embark on the 2nd half of the season. A special thanks to Colb once again for the chance and to everyone so far for helping me thru the rules etc.

Franchise GM / Re: FGM Official Trade Block Thread

Please keep in mind I cannot trade for another week and 4-5 days, however I figured I would put up a block. This team is quite good and it's a favorite to go all the way. I plan on spending some time tonight going thru the rules a 2nd time to see if they will sink in and look at my team and others to see what's a favorable contract and what is not. I am now not looking to dump Burnett so much as I am looking to add decent to fairly good SP since a few of mine are hurt. I am also looking for RP as well. I would move the following players to get a deal done.

RP Adam, Jason, $0.5m (P-n/a)
RP Affeldt, Jeremy , $0.5m (2012)
CI-MI Altuve, Jose, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 5/26/11
CI Belt, Brandon, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Blackmon, Charlie, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Burnett, A.J., $16.5m (2013)
C Chen, Chun-Hsui, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 5/6/11
C Chirinos, Robinson, $1.5m (2013), signed 4/11/11
RP Coleman, Louis, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 4/24/11
CI Cuthbert, Cheslor, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 1/20/11
SP Danks, John, $9m (2014)
P Davies, Kyle, $0.5m (2011)
P De Los Santos, Miguel, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 2/13/11
OF Fukudome, Kosuke, $12m (2011)
SP Hughes, Phil, $3.5m (2012)
SP Hutchinson, Andrew, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 4/30/11
OF Jones, James, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 3/21/11
CI Ka'aihue, Kila, $0.5m (P-2013)
P Maloney, Matt, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI-MI Murphy, Donnie, $0.5m (2011), signed 3/31/11
MI Nelson, Chris, $0.5m (P-2013)
P Nunez, Eduardo, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P O'Day, Darren, $0.5m (2011), signed 3/31/11
OF Puello, Cesar , $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 3/24/11
P Ramirez, Neil, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 2/6/11
P Rodriguez, Henry, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Sanchez, Eduardo, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Sappelt, Dave, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 3/24/11
CI Stewart, Ian, $2.5m (2013)
C Treanor, Matt, $0.5m (2011), signed 3/31/11

All of the minors as well I would consider trading in the right deal for SP, RP, and also an upgrade at C if you have one. I am also looking to cut cap as well so please present reasonable offers as I cant change my mind since we can't officially trade for awhile. I look forward to seeing some offers rolling soon. Any PM's with any ideas or what are you looking for will not receive a response. That is why we post a trade block.

Currently it's 85...70 (or 65) sounds like a pretty reasonable number

Is there any team available  ??

Hey Moli, check out Arm Chair Fantasy Baseball set to open in 2012. Contact Kenny, he needs 1-2 owners still.

I go to work after this 2nd trade and it's a short novel on bashing the TC and indirectly calling me out which is fine. The 2 week rule is fine and I did say I was not going to trade early to get a feel for the team. I rejected about 10 bad to terrible offers already before I did these 2 deals. Yes, the former Rock owner did tell me upfront about Burnett, Castro, everything, but I forgot how expensive Hart and the others will get in 2013. I did not know about Burnett and I can dump him for 60% next year and the next year.

I am just going to set my lineup and ask Colby, Corey etc. questions like others have to get a feel for this league. Obviously, hitters are worth much more and MI apparently are the cream of the crop. I got it. I did not try to create such a ruckus lol, but here we are. I will turn down each trade offer and I suspect that within 2 weeks from now, I will better understand the unique setup of this league. I don't mind people calling me out as I know im the noob, but the TC is in place for a reason. It's not my fault I don't think ahead like everyone else does just yet as I just joined 2 days ago. I will pick it up and my next trade will be much better. I am not going anywhere as this team is sweet and this league is awesome. Who in their right mind would leave? FGM is a step up from other leagues although some rules in New Era mimic these. Bottom line, let's just move on with the league and forget the BS that I created unknowingly lol. I will be better off with the 2 week rule, my next trades will be better, and the league can go on.

I do confirm this trade. I thought this trade through quite a bit and it's the best offer I have seen in ANY league I am in so far. Tulo is a tough bat to give up, however dumping Burnett and me not having to pay any of his contract is a boon to my cap situation. I am a fan of Castro and while he will never approach Tulo's status, he is only 22 years old and will be a solid MI for a long time. Hart is another solid bat I can add to my lineup. Marcum has really broken out this year in a new league on a contending team plus he is only 27 years old.

I do want this trade to go thru please.

  • Daddy: Honestly idk why the NBA doesn't do it that way for expanding. Two teams at a time. Expansion draft to amateur draft. I think the idea is fresh and its execution will be pretty dope. ;)

  • jimw: I think the NBA goes one team at a time to give the one team a better talent pool in the expansion draft and also to keep the teams from complaining about losing more players

  • Daddy: I mean they only losing one guy anyway tho. We expose 10 players, protect 5 players, each team, all 30 will lose one player.
  • Daddy: The expansion teams will then both have 15 players heading into the amateur draft with picks #1 & #2.
  • Daddy: Each other team will still have 14 players and one first round pick.

  • Daddy: They need to hire me is what they need to do
  • Daddy: Yeah you lose a guy to the expansion draft. Likely your 6th man. Then the very next day you draft his replacement and keep it moving.
