30 days for owners to vote on possible change to be applied at the start of the 2017-18 FNHL season (per FNHL policy, we try to avoid making in-season rule changes).

I don't think it would keep with whole concept of the salary cap if we allowed players to be used in games that didn't count against it.

My idea would be that a guy can be called up or sent down during the first 82 games but after that he has to stay up with the big club or be bought out. Once you call him up the first time you would give him a two way contract which only counts against the cap while he's on the main roster(same rules apply for length and amount as they do today). After 82 games it becomes one way and he has to be called up or bought out.

Whatever though just my two cents.

Pt taken Halo99.

I think the idea Snugerud communicated was to give owner/teams the 82 game freebie sampling of the prospect without dishing out a contract. An assessment period with no strings, no extra work, but yes - once the 82 gm max reached a Wntry Level contract would absolutely need to be given or the prospect released outright.

I like the ability to test drive the rookies at no cost or obligation to sign to a EL contract.

It also eliminates the need for waivers with the prospects. Less work for PPG.  :afro:

From what I have read of this history with minor league prospects in this league there were problems with timing promotion of the minor leaguers, what type of penalty when minor leaguers are not promoted after 40 NHL games played, problems with owners inserting minor leaguers in the league up without an official rookie contract.

The Combination Option appears to address all those problems by giving teams a longer assessment period and the ability to freely use the minor leaguer up to the 82 game mark.

Overall that Combination Option appears to be a good solution to a long standing issue from what I can find and read in the league's archives.

A well-conditioned team wins in the first ten minutes, maybe less. The opponent is destroyed not just on the scoreboard but their will is broken when an opponent comes out hard and fast.

Are we missing more votes or are the balance of outstanding votes due to the Multi-Franchise owners having already voted?

I require from my teams, proper levels of anger, belligerence and some good ol' fashion piss 'n' vinegar.
