We are now halfway through the draft and free agency is sort of close, so I was wondering if there was a maximum number of years we can sign a guy to?  Are we going to allow some DiPietro contracts of 15 years or have a max number?

Max length for a contract is 5 years.

Our maximum contract length is 5 years.  Since the yearly amounts are flat we have no need to spread money across multiple decades like they do in the NHL.  I think it's silly how that works and didn't want to replicate that mess!

Yup his price will be reduced by 50%.

Soon.  I'm going to finish entering the draft today and get all the players added.  Then I'd like to give a little time for makeup picks.  I'm thinking Noon tomorrow FA bidding will open but I'll announce it officially once I wrap up the draft.
