I'm not opposed to it, so I won't block it.

Just that everyone needs to consider that it's a different season, so it will change the dynamics. Players who are UFA's will be unsigned ... which will be even more likely if the NHL has a much shorter offseason. Some will retire. Some will move on to the KHL. Some goalies will lose their starting jobs. Some skaters will get demoted to the AHL.

These are all things that we adjust to over the course of an offseason ... and even over the course of the regular season. But there will be no course for adjustment in a 3-4 week playoff. No trades. No FA signings. Just luck of the draw.

Just something to think about.
Crow, no need to worry for your Eastern Conf team. Pens will be given the boot by my Bs.
I think you made some good points. Of course, all things being equal, the same fate your Stars and Pens suffer will likely impact the other 5 FNHL playoff teams including FA, injuries, retirement, etc. That said, it'll probably balance out in the end but worth keeping an eye on as the weeks pass during the COVID-19 reality we now live in.

I'm in.

I doubt the NHL and PA will let contracts expire in June the was they should. If they pick up the season where they left off, the league and PA will get agreement on a special extension to expiring contracts and player Visas will need working out but that's for paid owners and paid GMs to figure out.

As long as we can carry over the FNHL setup to the parallel league and the schedule is standard and not skewed in fav of anyone, I'm all in even if there's a cost to be paid from the prize pool. This gives us closure for the season.

Of course all bets are off if the NHL cuts the regular season short and jumps right into some rejigged playoff format.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::iatp:
:NAS: Preds release an official statement on this plan: Anywhere. Anytime. Bring it boys!

Seriously, it works for me. I think Crow brought up good points. JD's comments seem to address those and I agree. As for this year's Presidents' Trophy winner's comment about Fighting stat, I think Jonathan's point merits tracking of proper carryover of all scoring categories to ensure the integrety if our FNHL playoffs.

Ultimately, I still think the NHL will push for the full completion of the regular season unless COVID-crisis lasts beyond early-July.

They'll need:
2wks of training-camp
rebuild the schedule during that time in conjunction with arena availabilities
update legal framework of contracts and work VISA's for all the players in those situations
rehire all personnel to staff arenas
sell or update existing tickets

That will take us from July-early Sept to crown and NHL champ. Lots of $$$ on the line in the NHL and other professional sports leagues. As a hockey fan, I sincerely hope the NHL can save the regular season in it's entirety which will allow us FNHLers to play for bragging rights.:thumbsup:

When you think about the plan I outlined above, that will lead to a condenses 2020-21 NHL season and you will see teams going with a true 2 goalie system the way some teams have already been using this year.

Sorry guys, I totally missed this.

:iatp: :CLG: Calgary is in agreement with this plan. Spend the money to pay for a Fantrax Commissioner Site for these playoffs to properly setup scoring exactly the same way we have it now so we can award a winner and get good closure to the 2019-20 season.

We would need to ensure even distribution of games during the selected period we choose to re-start the playoffs.

I like it.

A well-conditioned team wins in the first ten minutes, maybe less. The opponent is destroyed not just on the scoreboard but their will is broken when an opponent comes out hard and fast.

Well the NHL/Bettman announced the plan to reopen the 2019-20 season today will include:
* elimination of the remainder of the NHL regular season
* move to a 24-team playoff format

Overall, this option to continue the 2019/20 playoffs in the 2020/21 NHL season should work.
If not, we can scrap it in the late Fall when the NHL figures out how and when to start next season.

Going with this option, we set up a parallel league, 2019/20 playoff team lineups can simply be Copied & Paste into the "micro-league".

* Supplemental Draft shouldn't be impacted. Can be scheduled for June.
* Free Agency won't be impacted. Should be on schedule as planned for August or scheduled later in late September or October given the 2019/20 NHL season will only wrap up in early September if it restarts in July.
* Salary cap won't suffer at all and perhaps freeze it at 81.5 to not hold up Free Agency. Just a thought.
* Entry Draft will be fine too. How about in mid-September?

Again, the entire league with all 31 teams will move forward.

All that happens for the 2019/20 playoffs to carry on is to take a snapshot of current rosters for the 8 teams and plug them into a new separate site in the Fall during the 2020/21 NHL season.

It's all do-able. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

:BOS-NHL: approve this plan! :iatp:

I'm honestly ready for the playoffs to continue. I got me some dollars to win!

This plan will work. Sure there'll be some tweaking to get 'er working smoothly but I'm almost 100% certain the mechanics will run as we expect with a parallel site housing the remaining 8 teams and picking up where we left off mid-week of the Division Finals aka Round 2.

We all played hard during the season and the start of the playoffs. I do not feel we should scrap all that effort when there's clearly a workable plan on the table.

Let's do this boys!!!

So we've heard from :BOS-NHL::NAS::MON-NHL: since the NHL announced the rest of the 2019-20 regular season was in the books.

I want to make sure these gents have their say and confirm the will play for the 2019-20 prize off a parallel site during the 2020-21 season:

  • ldsjayhawk: @jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe.  I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade.  Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for.  I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

  • Brent: Nope, 32-team contract league.

  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.
  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

  • Jwalkerjr88: Trading isnt easy. But neither is winning
    Today at 01:52:22 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: If you made a list of the most aggressive gms to have stepped foot in nfl live, you will notice the champions will be among them
    Today at 01:53:06 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: You arent gonna win every trade and you HAVE to have a plan. Ive made some horrible trades. I have every year
    Today at 01:53:50 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
    Today at 01:54:28 PM
  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • BayAreaBallers: although my last draft class and fa class kinda lead me to a run so it can happen
    Today at 02:27:21 PM
  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
  • Brent: postured
  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did
    Today at 03:13:02 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
    Today at 03:13:31 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide
    Today at 03:14:39 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: *your
  • BayAreaBallers: very good pt yes i did gain lot of capital which propelled me to make more moves from that trade
    Today at 03:34:25 PM
  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
