First off Matt, change your team name from "(0-13)" you lucky ____ (he beat me). Second, it appears that Mike/Bryan and Philly Girl/myself face off with the loser starting 0-2. Starting a year with two opening losses is tough, but The Gridiron is league where 8 of 12 teams makes the playoffs, so it is wide open for a while. Honorable mention goes to Rich who had a tough loss as he scored over 110 points.
TEH MATCHUP OF THE WEEKMudpuckers (1-0) vs. Parking Lot Beatdown (1-0)Eric (PLB) and Chuck (Mudpuckers) face off in Week 2. Eric had the most points last week and Chuck is the defending champion. You can't get too much better than this in the 2nd week. Chuck has had the upper hand in this series winning 4 of their 6 previous matchups. However, Yahoo favors Chuck this week. PLB features the following squad in Week 2.
QB Michael Vick
WR DeSean Jackson
WR Dwayne Bowe
WR Kenny Britt
RB Matt Forte
RB Peyton Hillis
TE Vernon Davis
K John Kasay
DEF New England
Bench considerations: QB Joe Flacco
, WR A.J. Green
Would I consider starting Flacco over Vick? No. Would I consider starting Green over Britt? Yes. Britt won't repeat last week's performance considering the opponent (Ravens). Green scored a TD in his first NFL game and the Bengals play the horrid Broncos this week. Aside from that, Eric's team has fire power (as I mentioned in last week's footnotes) and players he is still waiting on such as Dwayne Bowe.
Eric's team is turning out to have very little depth outside of Flacco who may sit on the bench much of the year. Forte's inconsistent play won't curse him this week as the Bears play the Saints. How about the defending champs?
QB Matt Stafford
WR Hakeem Nicks
WR Mike Williams :TAM:
WR Anquan Boldin
RB Shonn Greene
RB Jerious Nerwood
TE Ed Dickson
K David Akers
DEF New York Jets
Bench considerations: QB Kevin Kolb :ARI:, WR Mario Manningham
, WR Nate Burleson
, RB Steven Jackson
(hurt)
Chuck has one of my favorites in Stafford whose Lions play the Chiefs in Week 2. Kansas City was embarrassed last week by the Bills and is now without star safety Eric Berry. Chuck also has Kevin Kolb sitting on the bench, so his team looks pretty good right now at QB.
Eric's bench options at WR are pretty good for WR2 and WR3, but he has three guys you want to start with Nicks, Mike Williams, and Boldin. Burleson could be a sneaky play this week as hinted by the 5th down blog:
http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=33316.0RB is where Chuck's team starts to fall apart. People are starting to sell fast on Greene. Nerwood receives a spot start with Nerwood possibly getting the start with the Rams. Regardless, Nerwood had over 100 return yards last week which is 5 points in TGX. The rest of Chuck's team isn't bad. I wouldn't expect a repeat performance from Dickson. Akers and the Jets should be solid plays though.
VERDICT: Chuck 109 - Eric 106In other Gridiron matchups..

Leo's Lumpers (1-0) 110-95 over Forte-YearOld Virgin (0-1) - Diz will rely on Big Ben, Mendenhall and the Steelers to bounce back this week for a big win.
