Problem is that the masks that medical services use are N95 masks, the others won't stop the viral microparticals as their filters are to large, and 3M can only make 100 million a month, and about 3rd of production are made in china, all the 3M plant in us can only produce 35m, so not enough masks.plua trump at one point wanted all 3M global production until they likely told him if he did that the plants in other countries would put export bans on them.
Largest manufacturess of masks is china.

Tough times for all of us during this COVID-19 pandemic. Read that in Montreal they've banned gathering until July 2nd. So even if the NHL restarts in June or earlier, the Canadiens would need to find new digs to play home games. Perhaps off island? Either way, looks like hockey in mid-July is the earliest possible return at this point.

I do not believe a tournament format for the NHL Play-offs in a limited number of cities would work as the home team would want to properly profit from their existing home games. A tournament format would mean rental of facilities and lost revenue for a home arena.

What would actually work is an NHL re-start with "pre-season" games played in select designated neutral cities while waiting for all NHL cities to lift guidelines for "no public gathers" and ensure enforcement of public health and safety measures are put in place to allow arenas to be filled safely. Having worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo during the SARS outbreak of 2002-03, I can say that screening and checkpoints are key to keeping COVID-19 in check.

This is what I feel strongly about. My personal feeling is that unfortunately, federal governments have already completed their modelling of economic impacts given various scenarios. The US and Canada who I follow closely are working towards the dump debt on the public, keep the banks in control of the general population and the party in office wins while banks and corporations win long-term with everyone owing them money while staying compliant in underpaid desk jobs for years to come. It's a terrible economic play by Governments.

The worst part of all this, the frontline workers in all essential services are going to be taxed heavily down the road because they are the only ones generating earnings these days.

All IMHO.

It's a joke in Miami. Construction sites are open and there's a lack of physical distancing. Makes me sick to see.

In Quebec, this pandemic has exposed a huge F-up in the management of our long term care system where most of the deaths have occurred ... they are mostly Provincial Gov managed.

It begs the question how the Provincial government uses money if there is such a lack of personnel to help Quebec long term care patients compared to other Canadian provinces.

The topper... Quebec government tried to deflect blame to doctors. Sad.

I really find it interesting how COVID-19 is exposing big flaws in our society.

If you notice, banks and construction seem to be sectors that are profiting and allowed to reopen first respectively. That seems interesting that the two areas where money changes hands fluidly behind closed doors are protected and encouraged to restart before all other sectors.

COVID-19 has pulled back the curtain on lots of shady nonsense to be sure. LOL

Interesting findings from Iceland where a company has been tracking genetic predisposition to various illnesses and keep a blood bank of samples of all citizens.

https://www.genengnews.com/news/icelands-aggressive-covid-19-testing-helped-curb-outbreak/

They've essentially been able to trace genetic predisposition to COVID-19 and dive deep into tracing origins of various strains of the virus as it's mutated while making it's way around the world.

  • Daddy: Yeah so about that. One team get first pick in the expansion draft. The other gets first pick in the amateur draft.
  • STLBlues91: Yeah figured that was how it would be
    Today at 12:11:15 AM
  • Daddy: I could flip a coin but nobody but me would see it. So a number has been selected between 1-32. You are both getting pms along with the two other mods.

  • STLBlues91: Sounds good. When you thinking this will occur
    Today at 12:12:41 AM
  • Daddy: Whomever guesses closer to the number gets the 1st overall pick in the amateur draft. The other picks first in expansion.

  • STLBlues91: Sounds good, I will be thinking of a solid number
    Today at 12:15:05 AM
  • Daddy: Best get to building it.
  • Daddy: Honestly idk why the NBA doesn't do it that way for expanding. Two teams at a time. Expansion draft to amateur draft. I think the idea is fresh and its execution will be pretty dope. ;)
  • jimw: I think the NBA goes one team at a time to give the one team a better talent pool in the expansion draft and also to keep the teams from complaining about losing more players
    Today at 01:25:47 AM
  • Daddy: Thats fair
  • BayAreaBallers: that makes sense
  • Daddy: I mean they only losing one guy anyway tho. We expose 10 players, protect 5 players, each team, all 30 will lose one player.
  • Daddy: The expansion teams will then both have 15 players heading into the amateur draft with picks #1 & #2.
  • Daddy: Each other team will still have 14 players and one first round pick.
  • Daddy: They need to hire me is what they need to do
  • Daddy: Yeah you lose a guy to the expansion draft. Likely your 6th man. Then the very next day you draft his replacement and keep it moving.
  • STLBlues91: Daddy quick question in your messages
    Today at 01:44:14 AM
  • Daddy: We are good to go.:toth:
  • jimw: I think in the Bobcat expansion each team could protect 8 players. And I think the bobcats has to take at least 14 so half the league didn't even lose a player.
  • jimw: That was a long time ago though
    Today at 02:09:59 AM
