Tampa Bay Rays History :TB:

2020: 4th in East Division (42-18)
Relying on the arms of Blake Snell and Dakota Hudson, along withthe bats of Manny Machado and Charlie Blackmon, the :TB: had high aspirations.  But, alas, those hopes and aspirations were dashed and they just missed the playoffs.  The :TB: were certainly competitive, but amidst the challenges of a shortened season, they did not have enough to qualify for the post-season.

2019: 1st in AL East (132-30) AL Pennant Winner
The season started with the unfortunate retiring of HOF Adrian Beltre, but still had Machado, Chucknazty, and Stanton to lead in addition to the strong bullpen.  The Rays continued success with a 2nd consecutive impressive regular season, finishing with the best record in the American League.  The Rays attempted to have more veteran depth with additions of Shin Shoo and Markakis in addition to budget additions in adding Hader, Arraez, Guerriel, Urshela, and Hanser Alberto. Jorge Soler had a huge 40+ HR season to replace the injured Stanton. :TB: had its season end abruptly with a ALDS loss to Cinderella :SEA:.

2018: 1st in AL East (120-42) AL Pennant Winner
With a flurrry of moves that included adding Manny Machado (2018 #4MI), Giancarlo Stanton, Francisco Cervelli, and Charlie Blackmon via trade and Daniel Murphy via FA, the Rays jumped into contention after a mass rebuild which saw TB carry 14 top 100 prospects after 2017.  After winning the division, :TB: defeated :CHW: in the division series and then :OAK: in the ALCS before the defeat to :PHI: in the World Series.

2017: 3rd in AL East (78-84)

2016: 4th in AL East (85-71)

2015: 3rd in AL East (57-33)

2014: 2nd in AL East (101-40)

2013: 1st in AL East (112-29)

2012: 3rd in AL East (79-81)

2011: 4th in AL East (78-84)
The Rays hung it up early in the season after Posey was knocked out for the year and Evan Longoria continued to struggle.  The team finished with the same record as 2010, but with an even brighter future with $30m in cap space headed into 2012.

2010: 4th in AL East (78-84)
The offseason brought about two attempts for new management and the second one brought in a true fan of the Rays.  Michael Bailey didn't need to do much but fixed the bullpen, added a couple catchers, and stole Ian Desmond off the waiver wire.  His team entered 2010 as a contender but with possible changes on the horizon with veterans Crawford, Pena, and Burrell all at the end of their contracts.  The Rays started the season very poorly and Crawford was eventually dealt to the Tigers in a big multi-player deal that landed the Rays Hanley Ramirez.

2009: 3rd in AL East (91-71)
Like the real Rays, 3rd in the AL East was not going to cut it.  The extrapolated roto standings gave the 2008 AL Champs a 90+ win season, but it wasn't enough as they finish 5th in the NL.

Management
Kevin (kidd5jersey) [12/28/16- Present]
Eric H. (Eric) [8/7/15 - 11/1/16]
Michael Bailey (VolRaysBucs) [2/19/10 - 8/6/15]
Paul Collins (Lowcountry Bulldawg) [12/2/09 - 2/16/10]
Michael Menehune (Menehune) [7/1/09 - 11/28/09]

  • Daddy: Youve seen them? We havent completely structured all that yet. Weve got expansion and other factors that the real Wolves dont face.
  • Daddy: My comment on the real Wolves are if they win a chip then there is no such things as bad contracts. The point of all contracts are to win Championships.

  • STLBlues91: Id also imagine trading and all that can happen. Like pick a guy to trade to another team to pick up other assets

  • Daddy: You know LIVE rules. Once they are yours you can do whatever you like.
  • STLBlues91: Yeah had to just check. So a deadline to select the keepers. Then a few days for the selection. Me and Seattle alternate picks?
  • Daddy: The expansion draft is LIVE alternating picks until both teams have 15 players like the NBA All Star teams get picked.

  • Daddy: Can you imagine a league(s).  Where EVERY player that becomes a professional has value.. and 30-32 teams have 30-32 different people are actively determining that value?
  • Daddy: Where you dont wait for trades to happen on scoring sites or SS updates and the only thing asked of you is to run your own franchise and see how good you are. On an EVEN playing field.
  • Daddy: Its already near impossible to get into NFL LIVE. We had to start up a 64 team league just to accommodate the waiting list. True Story.
  • Daddy: Once full. NBA, NHL, & NCAAs will be very difficult to get into. People dont just walk away from LIVE often and when they do... They usually want back in. Legit dont miss your team in your sports. Get them while you can.
