Rules Question: Release of ARB players

I've got a question about releasing players who are in the ARB category. What number is used for the salary buyout, and over how many years can the buyout be spread over? Thanks!

I suppose a different way I would pose this question is - can we simply non-tender players who are currently in the ARB category, and if so, is there a penalty? Thanks.

You can non tender any ARB players and simply let them hit FA, with no cap hit or penalty.
