TOP 10 AFTER 10 WKS (Dec21'16)
« on: December 22, 2016, 12:54:49 AM »
Closing in on the HALFWAY mark of the 2016-17 FNHL season. It's a 88 regular season schedule. Let's check in on the leaders board.

1. :FLO: PANTHERS 37-3   HOLDING POLE POSITION  :win:
RW Bryan Rust surprisingly leads the Panthers. Duo of Carey Price and Petr Mrazek continue to be backbone of this team.

2. :CHI-NHL: BLACKHAWKS 35-5   HOLDING GROUND
Rookie Ryan Hartman surges up point board over past 3 wks. Holtby is stone wall for this team.

3. :LAK: KINGS 32-8   HOLDING GROUND
Voracek, Tarasenko & Saad scoring tons for the Kings. Peter Budaj & Roberto Luongo posting all the goalie pts.

3. :BOS-NHL: BRUINS 32-8   CREEPING UP
David Pastrnak and newly added Erik Karlsson doing all the scoring for Bruins. Talbot stellar in net and Rask his usual stud-self.

5. :NAS: PREDATORS 30-10   SLIPPING DOWN
Hornqvist & Cam Atkinson lead the Preds offence. Freddy Andersen surging up goalie stat chart. Slipping out of Top 3 by a hair.

5. :TBL: LIGHTNING 30-10    CREEPING UP
Rasmus Ristolainen continues to bolster this team's scoring since trade from Minnesota. Antti Niemi outpacing Bishop as this team's starter.

5. :DET-NHL: REDWINGS 30-10   HOLDING GROUND
Pqcioretty & Sam Gagner have been leading the team in scoring over the past several wks. Jake Allen stopping everything for Wings.

8. :PIT-NHL: PENGUINS 29-11   SLIPPING DOWN
Sid Crosby continues his elite scoring for Pens. Thomas Greiss and MAF share the crease and bring home the goalie points.

8. :NYR: RANGERS 29-11    CREEPING UP
Rookie Patrik Laine, young superstar in the making Jonathan Drouin and veteran Ryan Kesler lead offence. Martin Jones backstops and posting lots of goalie pts.

10. :COL-NHL: AVALANCHE 27-13    CREEPING UP
Knocks St.Louis out of the Top 10. Geno & Little Joe pacing the skaters. Cory Schneider winning just enough to help out.

So who's knocking on the door of the TOP 10, these 5:
11. :STL-NHL: 26-14
12. :DAL-NHL: 25-15
13. :NYI: 22-18
13. :BUF-NHL3: 22-18

Injuries have devastated what could have been a special season.

Both of my FPs Bishop and Stamkos are on the IR. Johnny Hockey was IR before we traded him. Abdelkader is IR. Even lessor types like Brendan Smith IR.

Losing Bishop and Stammer is too much to overcome. Maybe we can get healthy in time for the post season, but our division is rugged. Even outside the Division the likes of NYR, NJD, ( Possibly Philly under new management) had already shown vast improvement. Pitt was already top notch.

Tough season gets tougher. Damn injuries
