For the new vs old extensions, do we take the first number before the arrows ">>>>>" for current extensions and use the number after the arrows once August 1st hits?

Example, the #1 Center shows:
1   8.6 >>> 13.5

To extend that #1 Center before August 1st, we give a contract worth 8.6million and if we resign after August 1st, the extension will be for 13.5million. Correct?

Question about players with the franchise discount tag ... can we extend them mid-season?

I know we cannot trade them or buy them out, but can we give them a new contract if they are eligible for one (i.e. contract ending in 2021 this season)?

Yes - you can sign an extension with a Franchise Player in season.
However, you cannot remove the FP tag mid season.

Why are goalies so cheap to extend and skaters so expensive? It doesn't seem to align with the actual scoring for this league.

Am I missing something? To extend a wing (LW/RW) where do I get the ranking? On Fantrax there are choices of All Skaters C LW RW D G but no Wing. Skaters includes wings and centers tossing the wing ranking off.

I think the recent extension update was about getting caught up with real world contract values for skaters. The goalie extension values were already updated a couple of years ago.

you are missing the point, as it reads the wings are clumped together both right and left. You can’t look up just wings.

As Morty said, new extensions for Wingers are calculated by 1st taking the highest rank of the winger, either LW or RW or both. Once you've determined the player's highest rank, look up the extension value.

So if a player with both LW and RW eligibility needs an extension, and his highest rank at LW is 5th and highest at RW is 7th, use the extension for 5th ranked Winger = $10.5m

Bottomline gents, nothing's changed really because the extension at either wing was the same for the same rank in the past. We just simplified the process.
