Nominations for End of Season Awards
«
on:
April 04, 2013, 01:02:23 AM »
Hey everyone it is that time of year again where we need to start voting on awards. I am hoping that everyone inputs with some nominations and if there are any that aren't unanimous we will do a vote like last year. Nominations will be up for 2 weeks then voting will be there after.
The Dean Lombardi Award (most active on the ProFSL board)
The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
The Chuck Fletcher Award (for the best trade - trade that worked out best for that respective team)
The Glen Sather Award (for the worst trade - trade that just didn't work out)
The Paul Holmgren Award (for best signing)
The Lou Lamoriello Award (for worst signing)
The Wayne Gretzky Award (best centers)
The Luc Robitaille Award (best left wings)
The Gordie Howe Award (best right wings)
The Bobby Orr Award (best defensemen)
The Patrick Roy Award (best goalies)
The Brian Burke Award (best draft)
The Eric Lindros Award (most unluckiest team)
The Dale Tallon Award (most improved team - team with biggest increase in standings)
There are also a couple new awards that are based purely on having the top players. Here are the presumed winners at the end of this week:
The Mario Lemieux Award (top scorer) - Sidney Crosby
The Paul Coffey Award (top defensemen) - P.K. Subban
The Glenn Hall Award (top goalie) - Antti Niemi
The Teemu Selanne Award (top rookie skater) - Jonathan Huberdeau
The Ed Belfour Award (top rookie goalie) - Jacob Markstrom

The Dean Lombardi Award (most active on the ProFSL board)
- really stepped up in my absence
The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
- I thought Philly was going to be bad but Walt proves me wrong yet again
The Chuck Fletcher Award (for the best trade - trade that worked out best for that respective team)
- put up your own best
http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=84228.0
Parenteau has been huge since I acquired him and Irving hopefully can become a starter next year
The Glen Sather Award (for the worst trade - trade that just didn't work out)
- put up your own worst
http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=84271.0
Too desperate for points should have held onto O'Reilly
The Paul Holmgren Award (for best signing)
John Tavares @ $5.2m for 3 years
Chris Kunitz @ $4.1m for 3 years
The Lou Lamoriello Award (for worst signing)
Jordan Caron @ $2.0m for 2 years
Ben Ferriero @ $0.4m for 1 year
The Wayne Gretzky Award (best centers)
(Malkin, Getzlaf, Backas, Bergeron)
(Staal, Gagner, Datsyuk, Turris)
The Luc Robitaille Award (best left wings)
(Brown, Pacioretty, Elias)
(Hall, Lucic, Zetterberg)
(Kane, Parise, Marleau)
The Gordie Howe Award (best right wings)
(Callahan, Perry, Horton)
(Eberle, Skinner, Parenteau, Selanne, Gallagher)
(Seguin, Dupuis, Eriksson, Heatley)
*
would have this hands down but Nash is a LW now with (Nash, Kane, Neal)
The Bobby Orr Award (best defensemen)
(Subban, Schenn, Seidenberg, Del Zotto)
(Seabrook, Kronwall, Pietranglo, Beauchemin)
The Patrick Roy Award (best goalies)
(Anderson, Bishop, Lundqvist, Dubnyk)
(Backstrom, Niemi)
(Rinne, Nabokov)
The Brian Burke Award (best draft)
(Yakupov, Fasth, Peters)
(Bishop, Khudobin)
(Conacher, Reilly, Silfverberg)
(Schultz, Grigorenko, Subban)
- lots are too early to tell but these are the impact players more
The Eric Lindros Award (most unluckiest team)
- because they are only team without at least 1 starter
The Dale Tallon Award (most improved team - team with biggest increase in standings)
- Easy one here, could make playoffs and were worst team last year

The Dean Lombardi Award (most active on the ProFSL board)
Drew and Tony
The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
definitely deserves this. Nelly took a team that finished last last season into the playoffs. To me, that quick of a turnaround deserves the Ken Holland award.

I will need to do some research to figure this one out
The Glen Sather Award (for the worst trade - trade that just didn't work out)

The Paul Holmgren Award (for best signing)
Chris Kunitz @ 4.1M per year
The Lou Lamoriello Award (for worst signing)
Jordan Caron @ 2M per year
The Wayne Gretzky Award (best centers)
Anaheim
The Luc Robitaille Award (best left wings)
Chicago
The Gordie Howe Award (best right wings)
Edmonton
The Bobby Orr Award (best defensemen)

Honestly I'd be proud to have Lou Lamoriello Associated with my team in any way even if it is for the worst signing. In my defence though I did manage to dump Caron's bad contract and picked him back up dirt cheap after the Rangers bought him out.

Takes a certain kind of guy to even do dynasty and unfortunately many of them are.. umm "sensitive" is a good word. I am a lot of personality, but im very good at what i do. I might suck at everything else but in dynasty fantasy i am ELITE.

NHL LIVE is fantasy hockey on illegal substances. Just like NFL/MLB LIVE it offers a unique perspective on "modern day" fantasy sport experience.

It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)

Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
