How is Jamey Carroll the 8th best OF in the game?

i agree that quite possible the only changes we should make are.....games started in a week (sp) and make it to where these infielders cant be raking the OF stats. i cant extend omar infante becuase its outrageous what i have to pay him.

I like to see assists/putouts gone from the scoring system as well. Intuitively, there doesnt seem to be a strong correlation between how well a player plays defense and assists/putouts.

The agreement with the scoring system was that defense would be altered or removed if it didn't work out in 2010.  I am favoring the removal of defensive statistics due to their unaccountability and added complexity to setting lineups.

We could increase the number of games required for OF eligibility to solve this problem. We can keep the rest of the positions eligibility as it is right now and take OF up to say 30games played?

I do agree with this argument however I think we should follow the path as we have in the past and give a season's notice before the rule change. I was also affected by this  with Adam Dunn, although he didn't play a whole lot in the OF he was the #2 OF when I had him. Now I thought that was kinda unfair however he was OF eligible which meant I could play him in the OF (which I did for a week or two). Now this wasn't too favorable for me, but it was a part of the game. In fact this is why I made the decision to trade Dunn, if not for his OF ranking, he would still be a Brave and this yr's playoff race could be totally different.

I don't mind the position eligibility as much as the defensive statistics.  It was also agreed upon that they would be removed in 2011 if there was debate over their effectiveness.
