TRADE: Avs + Flames deal power forwards etc.
« on: January 28, 2013, 11:09:40 PM »
to :CLG: :CGY:
G - Sami Aittokallio (2010: 4/107 - 0 Games)
Round 2 - 2013 (COL)
Chris Stewart, $6.9m (2013-2014)

ship to :COL-NHL: :COL-NHL2:
Max Pacioretty, $3.7m (2013-2014)
D - Xavier Ouellet (2011: 2/48 - 0 Games)
Brandon Saad, 0.8m (2012-2013)
+ save $2.4m cap space

both teams are moving pieces to acquire preferred building blocks for their teams.
:CLG: is takes on more salary (extra $2.4 million) but gets a right winger that can help them to kick-start an anemic Calgary offence. the draft pick will be for the future ... same goes for the longterm goaltending project by the name of Aittokallio (too many vowels in that name!).

smooth trade negotiations.
CapnCally to confirm for :COL-NHL:

We agree.
Were offered this trade, and accepted straight up. Pieces fit what we're trying to do. Yes we lost the 2nd Round pick but we have picks, and almost full minors .
Cap didn't really matter but any space is good I suppose.
Not going to win this year so the fact that Patch is out doesn't matter.

Thanks for the offer.

Keep em coming fellas!

Best player is going to Colorado, Stewart hasn't done anything since the year after the trade to St. Louis and Pac had scored 30 goals last season.

Saad just broke into the league with Chicago and will be a cheap re-sign. Ouellet also played well for Team Canada at the WJC.

Don't see why a league run Calgary team would trade to acquire someone at almost double the price for their best player.

Sorry guys :veto:

I have to agree with drew here...  :veto:

Yes stewart has tons of potential... He has all but disapeared the last few years and has a massive cap hit.. Sadd is a good prospect and oullet just finished playing on team canada.. Paxy is a big goal scorer and shows no sign of slowing down... This trade will damage calgary now and in long run...

Hahahahahahaha. Sorry.
Smoking Gun.
Hahahahahahaa.

Does every player that plays on "Team Canada" make it to an all-star in the NHL?
Or is this just being biased and saying every Canadian junior player is superior to the rest of the world?
If he played in the WJC for team Latvia, would you bring that point up?

Holy sh*it, a guy played for Team Canada in the Junior tournament. He must be f'ing brillant and the next coming of Sidney Crosby or Shea Weber. No one dare trade them, they're going to be a f'ing all-star and top-30 player by the time they're 21 years old!

Give me a break.

Worry about your own teams.

Keep criticizing other peoples teams if it makes you feel better.
Keep sitting behind your computer screen calling other people out and trying to tell them what is best for their teams.

ever hear of inner voice?

ever hear of inner voice?

I would LOVE to stick around and have a couple [ppl] tell me how to run my FREE FANTASY TEAM!

Haha.

I would love nothing better than to have my FREE FANTASY team - Let me stress: FANTASY TEAM - being told how to be run by a couple of random people I do not know.

Okay, maybe if Drew is Drew Doughty in secret, or maybe a former NHL GM or assistant GM, maybe then they'd hold some credibility. Hell, even an AHL GM.

This makes no sense.

:iatp: This deal looks evenly split. Stewart had one down season and is bouncing back. Pacioretty is out 1 month which is 1/3 of our season and by the time he's in game shape 1/2 the season will be over.

Everyone else is raw unproven potential that may or may not become productive.
