SPS in FGM are basically pointless... No need to stock up on SP specs.

C Oscar Hernandez

You can't consider this guy a top prospect yet at all.  He will be 19 in July and has yet to play baseball in the US.  He did have a pretty good year last year in the VSL but there hasn't been anything close to a scouting report on him and according to most research it looks like the VSL Rays play in a home park the size of a softball field.  I am looking forward to hearing more about him once he comes state side but until then I think you have to take his numbers last year with a grain of salt.

Starling Marte, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates
Current Level: AAA
2012 Top 15 Prospects Ranking: 6th
Current Value: Overrated

The Pittsburgh Pirates have received brutal production from the outfield in 2012, save for center-fielder Andrew McCutchen. After what seemed like a breakout 2011 season, many fans were eagerly anticipating the arrival of outfield prospect Marte to help take some of the offensive load off of the current starting outfield trio. Unfortunately, the wait may be longer than anticipated for many. Marte, 23, is struggling to put the finishing touches on his minor league career while playing at the triple-A level. He’s hitting just .246 and has taken nine walks on the year – which is actually an improvement over 2011 for the notoriously impatient hitter. Swift of foot, Marte hasn’t made the best decisions on the base paths and has been caught trying to steal during five of his 14 attempts. On the plus side he’s showing some gap power. Although the big league club could really use him now, Marte is probably still about a year away from helping the big league club on a regular basis but I’m still not sold on him being anything more than an average big league regular.

Vitters is no longer considered a top prospect...sorry Mike
Couldn't care less about this review, I saw the kid play with my own eyes a couple of times this spring and would bet the farm he is an above average (at minimum) big league OF within the next 3 seasons.  He will contribute at some point this year, take it to the bank.  Vitters may not be a "top prospect" but he is every bit the spec of some others that were mentioned in the write up.  Pittsburgh will not start his arb clock a second before they absolutely have to.

Heading into week 9

Heading into week 8...I will focus on the negatives of each team - please try not to be sensitive, this is all in good fun

1)  Los Angeles Dodgers  (55-9) - Could use some pitching. His top 2 (Niese, Holland) have been very lack luster. And Mark Reynolds.
2)  St. Louis Cardinals  (51-13) - IMO - many guys playing above their respective ceilings
3) Boston Red Sox  (54-10) - The 2013 version of this team will be an old timers day roster.
4)  Philadelphia Phillies  (52-12) - We'll see what happens when they beat my ass this week, but I am not as high on this team as I was. Traded in his Cadillac for a Buick.
5) Cleveland Indians  (46-18) - Chad will look to add Travis Blackvey to his rotation this week. First we will have to find out who Travis Blackvey is, and teach him to pitch.
6)  Texas Rangers  (49-15) - AJ Ellis...nuff said...stop the insanity
7)  Kansas City Royals  (40-24) - Has Livan Hernandez taking up a rotation spot
8)  Cincinnati Reds  (46-18) - My team sucks. I hate watching these guys ground into DPs on a weekly basis. Hamilton got some sand in his mangina and will miss some time. achoo...coke will fix that.
9) Atlanta Braves  (38-26) - David Freese finally realized the playoffs were over and turned back into David Freese
10) Chicago White Sox  (37-19) -  The magic of Ty Wiggington
11) New York Yankees  (33-31) - His roster changed 4 times since I started writing this, dunno who is on OU's team anymore.
12)  Oakland Athletics  (31-33) - Rob has been Smoak'd
13)  Houston Astros  (33-31) - I call BS on Yadier...Did Albert change his name, and the real Molina went to Cali?
14)  Pittsburgh Pirates  (31-33) - Colby's team was made from a list of 2012 sleepers, problem is they all fell asleep.
15)  Milwaukee Brewers  (27-37) - The worst case scenario has happened with this team. May have 24 mil tied up in two guys not in the majors next season.
16)  Colorado Rockies  (25-39) - Continue to ghost ride into a losing season. This is the fantasy version of the Bobby Bonilla Mets.
17)  Washington Nationals  (31-33) - The biggest trick Jimmy Rollins ever pulled was making jake believe he still was good at baseball.
18) Tampa Bay Rays  (31-33) - 20/20 for S-Rod, not so much
19)  New York Mets  (25-39) - With as many old guys on this team, you wouldn't think the 22 year old CI would be the one with vision problems.
20)  Seattle Mariners  (29-35) - Can't see the tears of the fans because it is always raining in the Pacific northwest.
21)  Minnesota Twins  (30-34) - Pronk pronk'd him, and got injured as usual...never rely on a man who looks like Shrek and is made of glass. We all learned something valuable today.
22) Chicago Cubs (17-47) - Spent Brewster's millions just to stay in last place.
23)  San Francisco Giants  (25-39) - Too much San Francisco and not enough treat.
24)  Detroit Tigers  (28-36) - The ghost of Johnny Damon haunts this team like a stale elevator fart.
25)  Toronto Blue Jays  (24-40) - I've been bagging on this team all year, I'll let them slide this week.
26)  Miami Marlins  (21-43) - The curse of Lind. It's like herpes, once you got it, it never goes away.
27)  Arizona Diamondbacks  (20-44) - Fake Ryan Rayburn, in his fake giant mansion, sends a fake thank you.
28)  Los Angeles Angels  (10-54) - Moreno would be in his grave by now, or Barmes would be in a shallow grave by now...1 of the 2
29)  San Diego Padres  (15-49) - One of the few teams, real or fake, that score less than the real life Padres.
30)  Baltimore Orioles  (1-63) - If a ball is hit, does he have any fielders to catch it

Wildcard focus shows A's in a better position than a couple weeks ago.  The Yankees will likely hold on to be in this race all year.  How long with the Twins last?  In the Senior Circuit, the Reds are dominating the race and the Braves have a five game lead on the Astros.  Jake and I lurk with our small ball clubs.  If the sleepers are sleeping, I will continue on hoping they wake up!

American League
7)  Kansas City Royals  (40-24) - Has Livan Hernandez taking up a rotation spot
10) Chicago White Sox  (37-19) -  The magic of Ty Wiggington

I see you are not a fan on the moves I made.  I saw me getting old real fast and I wanted to stay competitive a little longer.  I'm trying to make moves that will help me still this year and for the next few years.  The Konerko move hurts a lot right now but I think his contract was a little long and I will be happy about it in the next few seasons.  My goal is just to win the NL East.  Anything can happen in the playoffs.  All the teams in my division have gotten better which is awesome.

  • Daddy: Honestly i love the deal because my GMs love it. I dont say good deal bad deal or i like this side better.  My goal is to provide a fair platform where people are free to trade and not be judged because nobody knows for sure how these trades will play out. Lots of ACLs are gonna tear between now and new years.  Im always happy that two strangers with different backgrounds can meet in our league and enjoy freedom to be themselves and do what THEY THINK is best. I love every deal. (Had to share that @Braves) :toast:
